[Divine Geometry: Storage space has been unlocked for you. Current capacity is 1 cubic meter. Future chosen ones may spend points to upgrade it.]
[Note: Storage space experiences a physical delay of approximately 0.5 seconds.]

The prompt from Divine Geometry piqued Mo Xuanyu’s curiosity, so he immediately began testing the contents of the chest.
Put something in, then take it out again.

This so-called spatial delay refers to the waiting time required when placing items into or retrieving them from the storage space.

Mo Xuanyu keenly realized that this slight delay, seemingly trivial, could actually be a crucial factor in combat.

In battle, if you’re injured and want to retrieve a potion from your storage, you must pay close attention to this 0.5-second lag.

If your hand moves away from the intended spot during those half seconds, the potion might fall to the ground the moment it emerges.

Clearly, unlike in games where potions can be consumed instantly with zero delay, enemies won’t grant you such opportunities.

“It feels like this will be a major future microtransaction point,” Mo Xuanyu silently grumbled to himself.

After tidying his belongings, Mo Xuanyu left the interrogation room and ascended the stairs. Soon, an iron door appeared ahead, guarded by two sentries.

They were clearly instructed by Officer Weilen to salute and then open the iron door for Mo Xuanyu.

Creak—

Passing through the iron door, the first thing to greet his eyes was a spacious corridor.

Several windows lined the wall to one side, allowing narrow beams of sunlight to fall on the floor, where floating dust motes were visible in the air.

This underground prison was constructed beneath the Sun Knights’ headquarters, a place the Sun King had specially designated for political prisoners and captives.

In the main hall on the first floor, Mo Xuanyu stopped a civilian staff member and politely inquired, “May I ask where Officer Weilen’s office is?”

The golden-haired youth he addressed looked up and momentarily froze upon seeing Mo Xuanyu, clearly dazzled by his extraordinarily high charm attribute.

“Y-You’re talking to me?” The youth blushed deeply, glancing nervously around and avoiding Mo Xuanyu’s gaze.

So handsome, so elegant!

Mo Xuanyu nodded, “Could you please show me the way?”

“I’ll take you!” The youth immediately agreed, abandoning his task of delivering documents.

He led the way, and Mo Xuanyu followed him to the door of Weilen’s office, knocking lightly.

“Come in,” Weilen’s voice came from inside.

After thanking the youth, Mo Xuanyu pushed the door open and closed it behind him.

Weilen was a strict and rigid officer. Upon noticing that Mo Xuanyu wasn’t wearing a knight’s medal, he frowned and reminded him,

“Remember to wear your medal from now on, or you’ll be stopped as a suspicious person. Repeated warnings will lead to pay deductions.”

“Understood, I’ve noted it,” Mo Xuanyu replied with a nod. His sincere attitude softened Weilen’s displeasure significantly; high charm was truly useful in all aspects.

In fact, it was only now that Weilen had the chance to notice Mo Xuanyu’s striking appearance.

The dim underground prison had only allowed him to make out that the man was tall and slender with a good figure.

Now, in the bright office, Weilen felt that this face hardly seemed like that of a master assassin who had spilled countless bloods.

His aura was calm and elegant, like a noble heir nurtured in a grand aristocratic household, leisurely surveying the office without hurry or fuss.

“I never expected Moravinas to be so young,” Weilen murmured, having previously assumed this renowned master assassin was a seasoned veteran nearing fifty.

“Is that so? Thank you for your compliment.” Mo Xuanyu sat down in the chair before him. “May I ask if His Majesty requires anything of me after the review is complete?”

At these words, Weilen seemed to catch a glimpse of eagerness in Mo Xuanyu’s eyes.

He appeared impatient, yearning to make achievements within the kingdom and secure his position before the Sun King.

Weilen found this understandable. After all, for a master assassin, the rank of junior knight was still too low, and the man surely wouldn’t be satisfied with it.

Of course, Weilen had no idea that what Mo Xuanyu was truly anticipating was the main quest issued by Divine Geometry.

[Main Quest Updated.]

“According to His Majesty’s message, you will enjoy all the benefits of a junior knight, and he has even left something for you.”

Weilen said as he pulled a confidential file from a nearby drawer and handed it to Mo Xuanyu.

[Divine Geometry: World Assistance Card is now active.]

Mo Xuanyu blinked lightly and opened the document. It was a pardon order for a death row prisoner.

Name: None. Code 117.
Profile: Approximately 18 years old, elite assassin within the Twilight Assassins, one of the students trained by Master Assassin Moravinas.
Previously assassinated the lord of the Eighth Main City, one senior knight, three intermediate knights, seven junior knights, and countless government officials of various ranks...
Danger Level: High.

“According to Divine Geometry, this student should be the assistant generated for me. I wonder what kind of person they are—seems quite capable.”

Mo Xuanyu pocketed the pardon order and thanked Weilen.

Weilen shook his head, “You should thank the Sun King. He granted you these rewards. I hope you won’t disappoint his expectations.”

“Also, this is the apartment prepared for you by the Knights. Inside you’ll find your uniform and this month’s salary in advance.” Weilen handed him a key.

“Of course not.” Mo Xuanyu took the key and noted the apartment address.

Just as Mo Xuanyu rose to leave, Weilen quietly warned,

“Until you receive my orders, please don’t leave the surveillance area of the Seventh Main City on your own. That would cause a lot of trouble.”

Although Mo Xuanyu’s identity had gained preliminary trust from the Sun King, the investigation into Moravinas was still ongoing.

During this period, Weilen was responsible for monitoring him.

If Mo Xuanyu’s true identity were discovered, he would instantly be hunted by the Knights, and Weilen, the strongest among them, would personally pursue and execute him.

Mo Xuanyu turned calmly and replied, “Rest assured, I will prove my loyalty to His Majesty in the days ahead.”

Seeing those pale blue eyes, Weilen felt somewhat reassured.

“Good, that’s best.”

After leaving Weilen’s office, Mo Xuanyu followed the address to the residential district.

Third floor, unit 101.

Opening the door revealed a single apartment, modestly decorated with warm yellow wooden flooring, clean and well-maintained, equipped with all necessary facilities.

Mo Xuanyu opened the wardrobe to find two sets of deep black military uniforms—the standard issue for junior knights.

Reportedly, these sharp and upright uniforms were personally designed by the Sun King, who had studied at an art academy, setting them apart distinctly from those of foreign armies.

“First, I’ll go fetch my assistant from the prison.”

Mo Xuanyu picked up the wallet on the table, calculated his funds in the city’s currency, then left the apartment and hailed a carriage on the street.

“Where to, sir?” the bearded coachman asked, tipping his hat in respect.

“To the death row prison,” Mo Xuanyu said, tossing a silver coin to him.

The coachman’s heart raced; it was the first time he had met such a generous guest. He quickly jumped down to open the carriage door for Mo Xuanyu.

The carriage sped through the streets. Mo Xuanyu gently pulled back the curtain to observe the Seventh Main City properly.

The Nora Kingdom was vast, consisting of twelve main cities and nearly a hundred smaller towns.

The Seventh Main City, where Mo Xuanyu was, was an administrative hub with predominantly Baroque architecture, and numerous guard posts could be seen on the streets.

According to the information Divine Geometry provided, the Sun King had come to inspect the Seventh Main City and was once targeted for assassination by Mora in the banquet hall.

However, the Sun King’s power far surpassed Mora’s, resulting in the assassination attempt’s failure.

“How strong could this Sun King be?” Mo Xuanyu glanced at his own attribute panel, growing more cautious.

Judging by the main quest from Divine Geometry, his ultimate goal was to assassinate the Sun’s Heir and help the Free Commune overthrow the Sun King’s regime completely.

To kill this empire’s future hope, a direct confrontation with the Sun King was inevitable.

A fierce battle was clearly unavoidable, and he had to prepare thoroughly.

“Sir, we’ve arrived at the prison,” the coachman announced, stopping the carriage, wiping his dark hand with a white cloth, bowing, and holding out his hand to Mo Xuanyu.

Mo Xuanyu politely declined the assistance, stepped down, and surveyed the massive black prison before him.

He tossed another silver coin to the coachman. “Wait here, I’ll be back shortly.”

“All right!” The coachman beamed.

“Unauthorized persons must leave immediately! No loitering in front of the prison!” a guard at the entrance barked coldly upon seeing them, hand already resting on his flintlock pistol.

“I’m here to collect someone,” Mo Xuanyu said, presenting his knight’s medal and the pardon order.

Once the guard verified the authenticity of the medal, his demeanor immediately changed, and he respectfully returned the items to Mo Xuanyu.

“My apologies, Knight, for our earlier offense.”

It was well known that the Sun Knights were the most powerful enforcement agency within the Nora Kingdom.

They answered directly to His Majesty the Sun King, free from control by the church or government officials, and possessed the privilege to act first and report later.

Only the elite of the elite could enter the Knights, with combat abilities far beyond ordinary people. Thus, the guard’s respectful attitude was unsurprising.

“Please follow me, Knight.”

A guard led Mo Xuanyu inside to the warden’s office within the prison.
