Chapter 54: Excursion to the Suburbs
In front of the Prince Mo Manor, Yuan Qian'er and the others finished their preparations and boarded the carriage. Driven by Mo Ming and Mo Xian, the carriage slowly headed toward the outskirts!
No one knew that in the shadows, a pair of eyes had been fixated on the advancing carriage. The corners of the mouth curled into a sinister smile, and a voice murmured softly, "You've finally made me wait for this moment!"
"Mo Yiran, where in the outskirts are we going for a barbecue? None of us are familiar with this place, so you make the call!" inside the carriage, Yuan Qian'er looked at Mo Yiran and asked.
"Let's go to the banks of Jade Lake. That place was bestowed upon me by Bing Qinghua. The scenery is wonderful, it's not too far away, and basically no one will go there to disturb us!" Mo Yiran thought for a moment and replied.
"The banks of Jade Lake? Is it fun? How come I've never heard of it?"
"It's a lot of fun. There are swings, a vast lawn, and the lake water is crystal clear. Since it's summer right now, we can play in the water, and the air is fresh, too. You just arrived not long ago, so naturally you haven't heard of it."
"Hey, there's water? Then we can go down and swim!" Su Qing橙 (Su Qingcheng) said excitedly.
"My wife, as a young lady of a good family, you actually know how to swim?" Murong Xuan asked, somewhat surprised. In ancient times, young ladies from prestigious households generally did not know how to swim.
"Ha, there are plenty of things I know how to do! What's mere swimming compared to that?" Su Qingcheng put on airs again.
"Does that mean you'll marry me, too?" Murong Xuan followed up on Su Qingcheng's remark.
Su Qingcheng: "..."
Half an hour later, the carriage stopped. Mo Ming said to the few people inside, "Everyone, we have arrived at the banks of Jade Lake!"
"We've finally arrived! Sitting for so long made me feel like I was starting to grow mold. Ah! The air feels so wonderful!" Su Qingcheng was the first to jump out of the carriage, taking deep breaths of the outside air.
"Wow, it's so gorgeous! This is simply a paradise away from the hustle and bustle!" Yuan Qian'er got out of the carriage and began to survey her surroundings, offering praise after praise.
Indeed, the banks of Jade Lake were nestled against the mountains and by the water. The lake water was crystal clear to the bottom, and a few massive, lush trees stood on the verdant lawn. Two swings were tied to the branches of each tree, swaying gently with every breeze. There was no dust, no smog, and the air was incomparably fresh. If one had a camera, such a beautiful place truly deserved to be captured.
"Master, there's water! I'm going to play in the water! I'm going to catch fish! Haha, it's still better to be in human form!" Xiao Bai still possessed a child's temperament, taking short steps as he scampered toward the lakeside.
"Qian'er, let's go swimming! This natural lake water is way better than the water in a swimming pool!" Su Qingcheng pulled Yuan Qian'er along as she headed toward the lake as well.
"It's great and all, but we don't have swimsuits. How are you going to swim? We're wearing three layers inside and three layers outside—can we even move if we go down in these?" Yuan Qian'er looked at her cumbersome clothes and said to Su Qingcheng.
"That's true, this is a bit of a problem!" Su Qingcheng frowned in thought, then her eyes lit up with a flash of inspiration. "Hey, I've got it! Don't we all wear dudous (traditional Chinese bellyband underwear)? This dudou is basically equivalent to a modern bikini! As for these trousers, can't we just tear them into boxer shorts? People here are conservative, so won't it be fine if we just throw an outer robe over them?"
"That's not a bad idea! Then let's do it! I haven't relaxed in so long; today I'm going to swim to my heart's content! Qingcheng, let's race and see who can swim faster!" Yuan Qian'er started stripping off her clothes right on the spot, completely forgetting that there were still three wolves watching their every move.
The three men watched as the two women talked and talked, only to suddenly start shedding their clothes. Their eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets as they thought to themselves: Are these two really about to go down and bathe? Do they seriously not even know to avoid us?
When Mo Yiran saw that Yuan Qian'er was about to strip off her very last layer of undergarment, he hurriedly stepped forward to stop her, saying, "Qian'er, you can't take off any more! If you strip any further, you'll only be left with your dudou. If you want to bathe, you at least need to tell us to turn around first—there are still people watching here!"
Yuan Qian'er paused, and after processing it, she said, "Mo Yiran, are you an idiot? Who said I was going to bathe? I'm going swimming! How can anyone swim without taking off their clothes? Besides, it's not like I'm wearing nothing underneath!"
