"Got it." The masked man handed the cake box to the driver.

"Until that moment truly arrives, you should keep a low profile. Don't draw attention to yourself, lest any unforeseen complications arise."

The driver took the cake box and chuckled, replying, "You tell me to keep a low profile, yet you aren't exactly doing so yourself. Aren't you afraid you might be dead by tonight?"

"Killing me isn't as easy as it looks," the masked man snorted coldly.

The driver’s expression turned serious. He lowered his voice and said, "That person always strikes at night. Do you want to stay in my truck tonight? Yulens and I can protect you."

The masked man shook his head. "No need. I have it all under control!"

Under the driver’s watchful gaze, the masked man turned and walked back into the hotel.

"Good luck, then." The driver smiled, shook his head, climbed into the cab with the cake box, and drove the cold-chain transport truck away from the Guyun Pavilion.

On the other side, the masked man returned to his hotel room.

He removed his mask, revealing a handsome face that had captivated countless young women. It was none other than the rising idol Zheng Fei.

"I’m not afraid of him coming; I’m only afraid he won't."

Zheng Fei sat on the sofa, muttering to himself, "Even if I can't kill him, I will at least inflict a heavy blow. That way, no one in this city will be able to interfere with the organization's plans!"

He opened the refrigerator next to him. Inside were rows of blood bags, each labeled with its source. He casually took one out, the cold light illuminating the text on the tag: [Type O - 16 years old - Virgin].

These blood bags came from his fans. As for how he obtained such specific information... heh.

Zheng Fei took out an exquisite gold straw, inserted it into the bag, and sipped slowly.

"You really have both courage and strategy."
"Because of you, the world is a better place."
"You are such a fool."

Just then, a faint, indistinct whispering came from outside the door. Zheng Fei frowned, his expression turning grave. He took one last deep breath, draining the remaining blood from the bag, not wasting a single drop. Then, he moved silently to the door.

"You are a righteous person who dares to speak the truth."
"You have such poise."
"You are a rare, good man."

Zheng Fei’s expression was solemn. There was no mistake; the voice was coming from just outside the door. Someone was standing there. It must be that lunatic!

*I’m a good man?* Zheng Fei laughed to himself. If the standard for being a "good man" was this low, then everyone in the world would be one!

*BOOM!* The door lock exploded. A burst of deep blue light erupted, engulfing the lock and a section of the door as it shot toward the ceiling.

Zheng Fei reacted instinctively. He thrust his arm toward the door panel; it tore as easily as paper, leaving a large hole. However, he grabbed nothing but air.

He sensed a fatal threat. A split second later, he dissolved into a swarm of bats and retreated. Where he had been standing, a mass of ominous black mist manifested out of thin air.

It was a towering giant wolf. Its fur was snow-white, and it wore a crown of thorns. A holy light enveloped its body, forming a sharp contrast with the pitch-black mist swirling around it, creating a bizarre and unsettling aura. The creature was so large that it had to stoop to avoid hitting the ceiling.

"Courage and strategy," it whispered.

At the far end of the room, the bats coalesced back into human form.

"A Werewolf King?" Zheng Fei caught sight of the giant wolf, stunned for a moment before sneering in disdain. "Using the Wolf God’s power during your transformation to teleport behind your prey and tear them apart. No wonder you managed to kill those three idiots."

Zheng Fei’s body language relaxed as he mocked, "Too bad you ran into me. With that split-second hesitation you werewolves have before teleporting, you couldn't touch a hair on my head even if you wore yourself out!"

The giant wolf slowly looked up, a red gleam igniting in its eyes. Zheng Fei caught the red light in the wolf’s gaze, his lips curling upward as his body once again dissolved into a swarm of bats, darting to the side.

Seconds later, the bats reformed into human shape.

*Rip—*

A claw the size of a door panel pierced through his chest, hoisting him into the air. In an instant, blood gushed like a fountain!

Zheng Fei’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible... you clearly..." *I saw him activate his ability, why did the teleportation arrive so late? How can this be?*

Zheng Fei looked down at the wolf claw protruding from his chest. As his blood drained away, a sense of suffocation gripped his throat like an invisible hand, causing him excruciating agony. His superhuman constitution was holding his life together, allowing him to endure far more pain than an ordinary person, but in this situation, it only served to prolong his suffering.

"No... don't kill me..."
"Please..."

Despair washed over Zheng Fei. In this moment, his heart was filled with regret. He regretted provoking his enemy at a press conference without truly gauging their strength, and he regretted not listening to the truck driver’s warning—had he spent the night in the truck, he would never have died like this.

"You are a good man," the giant wolf murmured.

Before the words had faded, Zheng Fei’s shadow was torn in two with a teeth-gritting sound of rending flesh. Black mist surged, and the towering figure vanished into thin air.

*Click-clack, click-clack.*

The sound of high heels echoed in the hallway. A heavily made-up woman stepped out of the elevator, sporting bold red lipstick, seductive black stockings, and a miniskirt that barely covered her hips. If one looked closely, she was Weng Lin’s manager.

She had come "by invitation." The way Zheng Fei had rubbed against her earlier that day had stirred her desires. She took it as a signal, so she had tracked down his room number to "deepen their relationship."

*This is what he meant, right?* The woman was nervous. Without Weng Lin, she was like a fish out of water, desperately in need of a new patron in the entertainment industry.

She gathered her courage and arrived outside Zheng Fei’s door. She froze.

The door to the expensive presidential suite had a massive hole in it; the lock and part of the panel were gone.

"This..." Looking at the hole, the woman felt a sense of déjà vu. She hurriedly turned to look, but it was too late. As her gaze passed through the opening in the door, she saw Zheng Fei’s pale face and his shattered, dismembered body. Those protruding eyeballs seemed to be staring straight at her.

"AHHH!!!"

The woman collapsed to the floor. She opened her mouth wide, and a piercing, blood-curdling scream shattered the peace of the Guyun Pavilion.

...

Sirens wailed as over twenty police cars surrounded the Guyun Pavilion, sealing it off completely. After several days, the Guyun Pavilion was bustling once again. From the lobby manager to the front desk, the hotel staff looked as if they were mourning at a funeral, their faces pale and wretched.

*It’s over! Another one dead! Isn't this going to put the hotel out of business for good?*

Chief Wang sat in his police car, holding his phone with a cautious expression. "You want us to call off the team? We don't need to continue the investigation?"

"But the impact of this incident is truly atrocious, and the pressure from above is immense..."

The voice of Fu Qingshan from the Ninth Special Task Bureau came through the receiver: "We have basically determined that the suspect is in the Nanhu Villa area; he is a wealthy man."

"We will catch him before sunset tomorrow. There will be absolutely no slip-ups."

"I give you my word!"

The stern voice echoed inside the police car. Chief Wang wiped the sweat from his brow and said nervously, "Alright, alright, I will await your..."

*Beep, beep, beep.* Before Chief Wang could finish, a short, sharp busy signal cut through the line.
