Chapter 24: The Play (Part 2)
Throwing another burst of flames toward the ground behind him, Lin Yi stepped onto the Yuyuan Sword and quickly glided toward the spot where the iron scroll had fallen.
I couldn't help but laugh as I recalled the fortune teller’s riddled and clumsy deceptions from earlier today.
Given his status as a prince, Donghuang Jiulin had to be mindful of his influence; after making arrangements for Mu Guiyun, he departed first.
After his initial surprise, Mu Sanqian let out a quiet sigh. How could the throne of Xihe Prefecture be so easily occupied?
"This poison is truly formidable; I fear it will be difficult to find a viable countermeasure in the immediate future," Ming Xuan said, feeling utterly helpless.
A group of more than twenty people, all clad in tight-fitting black attire, moved silently through the pitch-black world like ghosts.
Qin Shou took the photograph, held it in both hands, and stared at it blankly for a moment before his eyes welled up with hot tears.
"Whatever kind of character that person may be, just brush him off. It’s not as if he could eat me alive, could he?" Zhen Shifeng said dismissively.
Zhen Shifeng wholeheartedly agreed with Fortier’s sentiments. In truth, he was also somewhat anxious; on one hand, he feared the unpredictable supernatural powers, and on the other, the second assignment Chu Wentian had entrusted to him was also linked to Sky Corporation.
"My Lady, this is the medicine for the young master; you cannot drink it yourself, no matter how anxious you are!" As Fuping’s voice trailed off, she saw Yanyu leaning over Xuan Shao, her lips, stained with the medicinal broth, pressing against his pale ones.
Only Zhao Zixian knew what had transpired. Just as he had stood up to leave the stone-cutting platform, he had channeled a stream of pure, solar Chef God energy into the interior of the raw jadeite. No matter how hard the jade was, it was still merely a mortal stone—how could it withstand the essence of a Great Luo Immortal? Consequently, the raw stone had been pulverized from within.
"No way!" Xiang Ye exclaimed, but his only reply was the unmistakable sound of gunfire.
"Then... why does this organization even exist?" Li Chen curled his lip. If internal opposition and even infighting were already so severe, why continue to attract new members, and why keep it so mysterious?
Seeing this, Xiang Ye thought to himself, "Well played," and raised the Ring of the Undead with his left hand to block. With a loud "bang," the lightning struck the ring but was absorbed entirely.
It wasn't just ordinary humans; even the most high-performance metallic materials produced by modern technology might not withstand the immense pressure of such deep seawater—whether they could endure it remained an unknown.
"Didn't I tell you last time to hire a bartender? Did you do it?" Huang Yunshan, who loved wine, had long hoped for a superstar bartender at Xixi Bar and had repeatedly asked Jia Yuanyuan to hire one.
"When do you think it would be appropriate to intervene?" After the two shared a laugh, Li Chen asked for David’s opinion with great formality.
However, once they finally witnessed the power of these behemoths, they fell silent. Sending ordinary warships would be nothing short of suicide. Looking at the sheer size of these sea beasts, let alone warships, even an aircraft carrier could easily be overturned.
One could offend anyone, but not Shen Yanran, for she would demand an exorbitant price that would bankrupt you, making the cost far outweigh any gain. Huang Fu pulled the large black dog away from the ferocious yellow dog.
For a fleeting moment, Bai Xiaoyu almost blurted it out. Now he felt regret and longing, but where was he when her mother was still alive?
She bit her lip until it broke, and blood welled up, masking the original color of her lipstick. The weather was gradually growing warmer, but her hands remained icy, devoid of any warmth.
This layer of mist blended seamlessly with the habitually nonchalant smile on his face, forming the perfect mask for a prince. For those in power, the more unfathomable one appeared, the safer they were.
To her surprise, the moment she opened her eyes, she saw Ye Chen sitting at her bedside, his gaze as gentle as water.
"Sun God, you had better think clearly. Do you know what you are doing today? You are challenging the entire Underworld!" Hui Huo stared at the Sun God as he approached slowly, his expression grim, speaking every word with icy precision.
Li Luowei had once suffered through a difficult labor; compared to her birth of Niannian, Xu Xianrou seemed much easier to manage.
Li Xiao walked up to a Hummer, pointed his gun at the driver, and without a word, gestured with the weapon for the man to get out. Terrified, the driver scrambled out of the vehicle, and Li Xiao returned to the roadside to load the gas canister into the car.
Judging by the self-assured look on Gu Yitian’s face, she trusted that he would abide by the terms of their wager and would not pester her again until sunrise.
"Of course not, I’ll be there in a moment!" With that, Li Xiao hung up the phone. He had no heart to ponder the hidden motives, nor did he have the mind to worry about his own safety; he was desperate to uncover the truth of his origins.
He saw not a hint of fear or timidity in Pan Dao’s eyes. He, too, was a titan of the underworld; having clawed his way up from nothing, he was no ordinary man.
A-Yi nodded obediently upon hearing this, sliding her hand from one side of her lips to the other, signaling to A-He that she had locked her mouth shut.
"Mother, look, everyone feels they should be taught a lesson," Feng Yu said with a shrug, acting as if the idea had come from others and he had said nothing at all.
