Today's second update: Chapter 063!
……
"Who the hell dares hit me?!" roared Han Ying, taking a sudden, unprovoked punch right to the bridge of his nose.
Clutching his cheek, he gasped in sharp pain, casting a vicious glare at the young man who had materialized just in time.
"Xiao Yuan, are you alright?"
Meng Huai, who had "appeared just in time," pulled Gu Xiaoyuan behind him.
Seeing that someone actually dared to lay a hand on Han Ying, the surrounding crowd immediately backed away.
This kid has got some serious guts!
Supported by others, Han Ying struggled to his feet. Instead of immediately attacking Meng Huai, he dealt one of his lackeys a vicious backhand slap across the face.
"Are you blind? Some unseeing little bastard just hit me! Get him! Break the man's legs, and leave the woman for me to deal with personally!"
"Understood, Master Han!"
His lackeys, in groups of two or three, either summoned their Fate Armaments or equipped themselves with technological weapons, charging straight toward Meng Huai.
At this sight, the men and women nearby grew terrified, scattering wildly in every direction.
Meng Huai also summoned his Wind-Raising Spear, glaring at the lackeys as he warned, "I am Meng Huai of the Scorching Heaven Squad. I'm warning you not to make a move."
"Scorching Heaven Squad? Never heard of them. Get him! If you beat him to death, I'll take the blame."
Meanwhile, however, the captain and vice-captain of the Scorching Heaven Squad were currently sipping tea in the manager's office of Scorching City Number Seven.
"Old Geng, Miss Han, what brings you both here today?" asked the manager in charge of the daily operations of Scorching City Number Seven, completely baffled.
He and Geng Xiao were old acquaintances, and as for Han Yueshu, he held an even deeper sense of respect toward her.
"What is it, Manager Lu? Can't we come find you for a cup of tea without a reason?"
"Haha, now what kind of talk is that? Do we brothers really need to be so formal? Come, have some tea."
Although Manager Lu could not figure out their true intentions, it did not stop him from playing along.
Before long, however, a subordinate rushed in to report that Han Ying was causing trouble on the dance floor.
Manager Lu frowned. "You go arrange for someone to handle it first. I'll be right there."
If it were only Geng Xiao, Manager Lu would have excused himself and left by now. But with Han Yueshu present alongside Geng Xiao, Manager Lu had no choice but to stay seated and keep the two company over tea.
Yet, just as the atmosphere in the manager's office remained slightly awkward with desultory chatter, absolute chaos had erupted on the dance floor of Scorching City Number Seven.
Holding his Wind-Raising Spear, Meng Huai was like a god of war, sending all three of Han Ying's lackeys crashing to the ground.
By now, he too was thoroughly provoked, his gaze locking onto the grim-faced Han Ying.
"Damn it, where the hell is Brown Bear? Where did that idiot die off to?" Han Ying panicked slightly, looking in terror at the cold, gleaming Wind-Raising Spear.
Just as Meng Huai thrust his spear forward at Han Ying, a tower-like figure appeared. Meng Huai's thrust was intercepted and caught bare-handed by the newcomer.
No matter how hard Meng Huai tried, he could not break free!
It was Zhong Li, the strongest bodyguard assigned by Han Xiong to his older brother, a pinnacle-stage Rock Realm cultivator whose nickname was Brown Bear!
There are times when a nickname might be wrong, but never when it comes to a reputation. The two-meter-tall Zhong Li standing there emitted an overwhelming sense of oppression!
With his bronze-colored skin, at first glance, he truly looked like a grizzly bear!

Meng Huai's face turned red with strain, yet he still could not pull his weapon free.
At that moment, the previously terrified Han Ying bounced back up. "Brown Bear, beat him to death for me!"
Zhong Li remained silent. Gripping the Wind-Raising Spear in one hand, he walked steadily toward Meng Huai.
Just as Zhong Li raised his fist to attack Meng Huai, who refused to let go of his Fate Armament, a plump figure leaped out from behind Meng Huai. Throwing a punch, he collided directly with Zhong Li's heavy blow.
"Su Rui!" Meng Huai's expression changed drastically, and Gu Xiaoyuan let out a cry of alarm.
Su Rui crashed to the ground, his belly bouncing a few times, blood spilling from the corner of his mouth. Still, he stubbornly climbed back up and said, "I'm fine."
"Big guy, does it hurt?"
Zhong Li had also been forced back by Su Rui's punch. Releasing his grip on the Wind-Raising Spear, his fist was a bloody mess, injured by Su Rui's Gold-Breaking Finger Ring!
"I'm pissed off!" Zhong Li's eyes filled with murderous intent as he strode forward, preparing to teach the two of them a lesson.
Right at that moment, an eerie voice rang out: "Don't move. Take one more step, and I'll add a bullet to your wine glass tonight!"
With his rich combat experience, Zhong Li sensed danger immediately, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end.
He instinctively looked up and saw Ling Xiao standing atop the DJ booth, looking down from above with two short pistols in hand—one aimed right between his eyes, and the other pointed at Han Ying.
Han Ying was equally terrified. Just as he tried to flee, he saw Ling Xiao pull the trigger. A bullet fired, striking the floor directly in front of him.
The coward Han Ying was so scared his legs went weak and he collapsed onto the floor on the spot, unable to utter a word.
Zhong Li, however, glared fiercely at Ling Xiao and said, "Master Han is the older brother of the Black Bear Gang's leader! Do you have a death wish, daring to cross him?"
"Cut the crap. Anyone who dares bully members of our Scorching Heaven Squad—I don't give a damn if it's the Black Bear Gang or the White Bear Gang. Hands behind your head, squat down!"
Zhong Li didn't budge. "Do you really think ordinary firearms like those can scare me?"
He was a pinnacle-stage Rock Realm entity, after all. The guns in Ling Xiao's hands could inflict enough damage on ordinary Rock Realm cultivators, but their threat to Zhong Li was limited.
"Heh, I don't know if you're scared, but that bastard over there definitely is."
"Are you going to squat or not?"
Left with no choice, Zhong Li reluctantly squatted down with his hands behind his head.
Puzzledly, despite the normally strict security of Scorching City Number Seven and the massive commotion tonight, only a few guards who weren't even cultivators had shown up to maintain order.
"Xiao Meng, tie that bastard up for me. Anyone who dares bully Xiao Yuan, make him apologize on his knees!"
"You got it!"
Meng Huai put away his Wind-Raising Spear, pulled out a length of rope, and walked toward Han Ying.
"Don't—don't come closer. I'll apologize, I'll pay compensation!" Han Ying sat on the floor, pushing himself backward with his hands.
Meng Huai pulled on the rope with both hands, making a sharp snapping sound. "Weren't you acting all high and mighty? Come on, let's play a fun little game."
Han Ying panicked. When facing someone this unyielding, he was truly scared. He looked at the crowd of onlookers behind him and cried out, "My brother is the leader of the Black Bear Gang! Whoever helps me out, I will definitely treat you well!"
Yet most people knew of Han Ying's notorious reputation. Even if they lacked the ability, who would stick their neck out for him at a time like this?
As for the Black Bear Gang? That was a criminal syndicate everyone went out of their way to avoid!
Many in the crowd secretly wished someone would teach this scumbag a lesson, including the two women who had previously been serving Han Ying.
They hoped someone would castrate him and chop off his hands and feet, letting him experience the pain of those he had bullied!
"Be good, don't be afraid. I'm very gentle," Meng Huai said with a malicious grin, closing in step by step.

Han Ying had nowhere left to retreat, watching helplessly as Meng Huai tied a noose in the rope and slipped it over his neck.
Gasp!
Instantly, Han Ying's neck was constricted, and he felt a wave of suffocation.
Ignoring Han Ying's struggles, Meng Huai dragged him by the neck toward Gu Xiaoyuan.
The next moment, however, a large hand grabbed tightly onto the rope.
Meng Huai turned around and locked eyes with Yu Le. There was no trace of camaraderie on Yu Le's face now—only anger as he demanded, "Who are you? Are you trying to stick up for this scumbag?"
Yu Le didn't speak. He gripped the rope tightly and yanked it toward himself.
"You've got nerve!" Meng Huai drew his Wind-Raising Spear and thrust it at Yu Le.
Yu Le remained completely calm. With a sway of his feet, he dodged the direct thrust, then kicked heavily against the shaft of the spear, sending Meng Huai stumbling off balance.
Taking advantage of the opening, Yu Le untied the noose from Han Ying's neck.
"Brother, thanks. Get me out of here, and I'll reward you well."
"Stop talking nonsense." Yu Le hauled Han Ying—who was so frightened he had wet his pants—toward the exit. Right at that moment, Ling Xiao pulled the trigger.
"Get down!"
Yu Le shoved Han Ying aside, taking a bullet straight to the shoulder. He let out a muffled grunt, his face turning deathly pale.
At that instant, Zhong Li went berserk, smashing everything in sight and drawing Ling Xiao's attention.
Injured as he was, Yu Le ignored his wound, grabbed Han Ying, and bolted toward the door.
Once they finally escaped the bar, Han Ying let out a long sigh of relief. Only then did he recover his wits and look at Yu Le. "Brother, are you alright?"
A flash of disgust crossed Yu Le's eyes, but he said nothing. Instead, he reached out and jammed his fingers into his bullet wound.
Under Han Ying's horrified, distorted gaze, Yu Le forcefully dug the bullet embedded in his shoulder right out.
A spray of blood spurted out, scaring Han Ying into backing away repeatedly.
Holy shit, what a hardcore lunatic!
"It's nothing. Get out of here quickly, I have to leave too."
Dropping those words, Yu Le clutched his shoulder and turned to stride into the darkness.
Instead of running off immediately, Han Ying called out to him, "Brother, where are you going?"
Yu Le paused his steps. "I don't know."
"Where's your home? I'll come pay a visit another day."
Yu Le looked up at the starlit sky, shook his head despondently, and said, "I don't have a home."
Han Ying blinked in surprise. "Then why don't you come with me?"
"Come with you for what? Are you going to take care of me?"
"Sure! I'll take care of you!" Han Ying promised.
