Chapter Twelve: The Entire City Shaken, The Slaying of the Pig King
“Level Two Alert?!”
Inside the Tianhe City Martial Artists’ Base, a warrior enveloped in crimson blood energy nervously fixed his gaze on the elderly man before him.
“Yes! The reconnaissance warrior sent out has returned with intelligence: it’s a black-armored boar demon at least at the Bone Condensation Stage Three, and an elite-level demon leader at that!”
Despite the tension among those present, Elder Jiang calmly sipped his tea. “An elite leader, huh? The Seventh Guard Zone? No one’s stationed there; just send the base guards to handle it.”
“But Elder Jiang! There’s someone there! And... it’s your granddaughter, Jiang Zixun...”
Elder Jiang suddenly slammed his hand on the table, his expression turning pale. She was his only grandchild!
“What are we waiting for? Mobilize all the guards! Also, notify every registered martial artist in the base—anyone at Bone Condensation Stage Three or above! Wait, I’m going too!”
The warriors were stunned.
The strongest elder stationed in Tianhe was about to personally engage?
Since Elder Jiang arrived in Tianhe, he had been an indomitable nuclear deterrent, rarely showing himself in public unless the city’s very survival was at stake. His depth was unfathomable.
Clearly, the old dragon’s reverse scales had been struck!
Soon, a vast procession of warriors arrived at the Seventh Guard Zone.
Elder Jiang leapt directly from an armed helicopter, the thunderous impact sending ripples of dense mist swirling, yet he was unscathed. His weary eyes blazed with an icy light, and the blood aura radiating from him pressed heavily on the seasoned middle-aged warriors around him.
“Elder Jiang! Signs of Miss Jiang’s whereabouts have been found!”
“Move out!”
Veins bulged on Elder Jiang’s forehead; his tiger-like eyes glowed blood-red.
He only had this one precious descendant left.
If anything were to befall his only grandchild, what meaning would remain for this old man, already with one foot in the grave?
“Whoever rescues my granddaughter, I, Jiang Shang, will take as my final disciple, impart my lifelong martial arts, and help them ascend to greatness, earning fame across the Eight Kingdoms!”
Fame across the Eight Kingdoms! Such confidence could only come from immense strength.
Not a single warrior present doubted Elder Jiang’s abilities.
Their eyes burned red with determination.
“I, Chu Yunshen, will lead the charge!”
“Elder Jiang, rest assured! My subordinate Bone Condensation Stage warrior, Wan Long, will definitely save Miss Jiang!”
“Miss Jiang will be saved for sure!” A man clad in black armor stepped forward confidently. His arm trembled, revealing layers of protective armor that drew gasps from the crowd.
“High-grade Mystic-level battle armor! Could this be Lin Xuetao, the strongest warrior in Tianhe City’s base?”
“I’ve heard Lin Xuetao is closely connected to the Lin family, the giant of the Imperial Capital. Damn, how can we compete with him...”
...
“She can’t escape.”
Gazing into the rearview mirror at the boar king clinging like a venomous serpent, Lin Yin shook his head, grasped Jiang Zixun’s silver-white scabbard, and slammed the car door.
“Borrowing your blade for a moment!”
Jiang Zixun’s beautiful eyes widened in shock. Just as she opened her mouth to stop him, Lin Yin forcibly unlocked the door and leapt out.
“Crazy! Is this kid insane?”
Lin Yin rolled upon landing, narrowly avoiding the boar king’s fangs.
The boar king’s nostrils flared, catching the scent of boar blood on Lin Yin, instantly entering a berserk state, locking onto the clan-exterminating culprit and charging with all its might.
“That’s right! Come chase me!”
Suddenly, Lin Yin’s legs erupted with astonishing speed, rushing toward the vast canyon ahead. If measured, his burst reached an incredible 70 miles per hour—speed only a top-tier supercar’s twelve-cylinder engine could match!
“Is he... a monster?”
Voices echoed inside the silver-white McLaren, thick with shock and bewilderment. How could a mere Qi and Blood realm warrior burst forth with such speed?
“Zixun, he’s deliberately drawing the boar king away. Let’s hurry to find the guards. The base must have dispatched reinforcements already...”
Jiang Zixun pursed her lips, gripping the diamond-studded steering wheel tightly. The engine roared as she spun the car around, speeding towards Lin Yin.
“Zixun, you—”
“Go find the guards!”
Zhang Zhang froze momentarily, then gritted his teeth and turned sharply toward the edge of the guard zone.
A cliff.
Ahead, the waterfall thundered like rolling thunder.
“Beast, if you’ve got guts, keep chasing me.”
Lin Yin abruptly stopped, glanced back with a cunning smile, then collapsed, plunging into the cliff’s misty abyss.
The boar king howled to the heavens, eyes blood-red with fury. How could it not avenge the extermination of its clan?
Its massive body charged headlong off the cliff like a colossal tank, smashing toward the pool below.
Roaring wildly, the beast followed closely behind. Inside the car, Jiang Zixun’s determined face pressed the accelerator hard, the McLaren also plunging off the cliff.
---
The sun dipped low, blood-red stains spreading across the sky. Some might think Jiang Zixun had lost her mind—what use was driving off a cliff? But only she knew that as a martial artist, even the slightest chance to save a comrade was worth any foolish act.
The McLaren flipped several times in midair.
Jiang Zixun’s cheeks flushed as she struggled to control the clutch and accelerator.
Crash!
The car smashed into the pool, entering headfirst to minimize impact, gliding smoothly like a cannonball. The engine roared underwater, filtering water while propelling the vehicle forward.
“Underwater driving mode!”
Through the window, Jiang Zixun spotted Lin Yin and the boar king.
The pool was wide; Lin Yin ran ahead, the boar king pursued behind.
Yet the boar king’s speed slowed drastically, gradually falling dozens of meters behind.
“Huh?” Lin Yin suddenly looked back, a triumphant smirk playing on his lips. “Black-armored boar demon, a land tank. Why is it so sluggish in the water?”
Sensing the mockery in his gaze, the boar king howled furiously, rage surging, but its speed remained slow.
Whoosh! Lin Yin drew his silver-white scabbard, the blade gleaming in the blood-stained sunset like a grand, unfolding firework. “Fine blade,” he murmured, then plunged underwater, the blade carving through the water as he stabbed the boar king’s underbelly!
The blade pierced the softest part of the boar king’s abdomen. Lin Yin slashed fiercely, opening the beast’s belly from abdomen to neck.
Blood and organs poured out without restraint.
The boar king screamed in agony, desperately trying to bite Lin Yin with its fangs but never reaching him.
Like a seasoned underwater butcher, Lin Yin’s every strike hit the boar king’s vital points.
The most terrifying blow was when he slipped the blade through a gap in the boar king’s black armor along its spine, penetrating muscle and armor to pierce its vertebrae.
The boar king trembled violently underwater, as if electrocuted.
“Your rage has sealed your death.”
A deathly voice echoed.
Lin Yin emerged bare-chested, standing before the boar king. Slowly, he raised his silver blade to the beast’s brow. His deep, abyssal eyes seemed to see through the boar king’s skin, bones, all the way to its brain.
The final strike was delivered.
The blade slipped through the bone gaps, piercing the boar king’s brain.
Silence fell.
