Twelve of them sat on the bus, with Li Mengya beside Jiang Yun. The front section of the bus held the crew from the director’s team.
“Let’s start with a little game!” the director announced.
“What game, director?” someone asked.
“Listen to the lyrics and guess the song title!” the director replied.
“Ugh,” the group groaned.
“This game’s so overdone!” Yang Ying complained.
“Alright, no more wasting time. The winner gets a prize!” the director said.
Everyone’s eyes lit up. “What prize?”
“You’ll find out when you win,” the director said. “Let’s begin!”
The film crew started playing music.
“I’m afraid I won’t have the chance to say goodbye to you…”
“Buzz!”
Wang Fengwan raised her hand first.
“Fengwan’s way too fast!” Deng Xin grumbled.
“Yeah, seriously!” others echoed.
Wang Fengwan smiled politely.
“Okay, Fengwan, your answer!”
“‘Goodbye,’ performed by Jiang Yun!” Wang Fengwan winked at Jiang Yun as she spoke.
“Wow! Fengwan not only named the song, but the singer too!”
“Fengwan gets a point!” the director said.
“Next song…”
“My special love is for my special you, my loneliness can’t escape your eyes…”
“Buzz!”
Everyone raised their hands.
“Fengwan’s first again, Fengwan answers!”
“Ah? Again Fengwan!” Yang Ying sighed.
Wang Fengwan smiled, “‘Special Love for My Special You,’ performed by Jiang Yun!”
“Good, Fengwan gets another point!”
“Yes!” Wang Fengwan was lively, clearly enjoying the game.
Time passed quietly…
“Now, out of twelve, Fengwan has 9 points, Jiang Yun and Zhu Yin 5 points, Deng Xin, Chen Chi, and Yang Ying 3 points, Wang Bao and Wang Lan 2 points, Zheng Kai and Ren Xing 1 point, and Teacher Wei He and Li You have zero.”
“Ah! Heaven, strike me down with lightning!” Li You cried dramatically.
Everyone laughed.
“Hahaha!” Yang Ying said, “Li You’s always been a game black hole in past episodes, no exception this time!”

Ten minutes later, they arrived at the first game location.
“Alright! Everyone change clothes!”
They got off the bus, surrounded by many citizens watching the filming.
They ran around greeting the crowd.
“Jiang Yun! Jiang Yun!”
“Jiang Yun! Jiang Yun!”
Jiang Yun jogged, waving at the crowd.
They entered the changing room and switched into their mud battle outfits. Jiang Yun put on a tight suit and then a yellow team jersey.
By the time they gathered at the mud pit, a crowd of citizens had already gathered.
The director announced the rules for the first round: “Round one, Mud Pit Duck Catch!”
“Teams of four, each person has an elastic cord tied to their back. The opposing team pulls on the cord to prevent them from catching ducks.”
“The time limit is five minutes. The team that catches the most ducks wins. The winning team can choose one member to verify someone’s identity!”
The crowd applauded, and Jiang Yun’s group joined in.
“Also, for those who won points in the earlier game, every five points adds one meter of elastic cord. Less than five points will be calculated proportionally in centimeters.”
“Ah? If I’d known, I’d have taken the game more seriously!” they sighed.
“Oh yeah!” Wang Fengwan cheered, giving a victory sign to the camera.
“I get to add 1.8 meters of elastic cord?” Wang Fengwan was clearly excited, almost ecstatic.
The director asked, “Everyone clear on the rules?”
“Clear!”
“Which team goes first?”
“We’ll go!” Jiang Yun stepped forward.
“Alright, Yellow Team first!”
“We’ll mess with them!” Deng Xin and Chen Chi said.
“Okay, Red Team will be the disruptors!”
So Jiang Yun, Wang Fengwan, Ren Xing, and Wei He entered the mud pit.
“Are you ready?” Jiang Yun asked.
“Hmph!” Wang Fengwan huffed arrogantly, pretending not to know Jiang Yun.
Several crew members came out carrying elastic cords and began attaching them to the four players.
“Fengwan gets 1.8 meters, Jiang Yun 1 meter, Ren Xing 0.2 meters, and Teacher Wei gets zero!”
The camera zoomed in on Ren Xing, who was rolling his eyes.
Ren Xing said, “Director, 0.2 meters is basically nothing. This is useless!”
“Ren Xing, it’s still your reward. Just take it!”
Ren Xing rolled his eyes again, speechless.
The staff finished fastening the cords to the four, while Deng Xin, Chen Chi, Li You, and Yang Ying held the other ends behind them.

“Positions, get ready!”
The four stood in the mud, poised to start.
“Go!”
“Boom!”
Jiang Yun sprinted forward, with Li You pulling the elastic cord behind him.
Jiang Yun immediately plopped down into the mud. “Damn, is this really this hard?”
He quickly got up and, summoning all his strength, ran for the cage holding the ducks.
Next to him, Wang Fengwan struggled to move in the mud. Though tall, she was slim.
“It’s too hard!” Wang Fengwan complained as she tried to pull her foot free, with Yang Ying pulling the cord behind her.
At that moment, Li You sneaked over to Wang Fengwan’s lane.
“Shh!” Li You gestured for quiet.
Yang Ying and Li You exchanged wicked smiles.
“Going all out!” Wang Fengwan started running through the mud.
Suddenly, the elastic cord behind her tightened, and she fell squarely into the mud.
She turned and saw Li You. “Li You, you can’t sabotage me! You’re only allowed to mess with Jiang Yun! Stay off my lane!”
The director’s voice rang out: “Everyone, two minutes have passed. You have three minutes remaining!”
Hearing this, Wang Fengwan stopped arguing and got up, sprinting toward the duck cage.
Because Li You was on Wang Fengwan’s lane, no one was hindering Jiang Yun.
Jiang Yun successfully caught a duck.
Ren Xing walked steadily through the mud, not running but taking deliberate steps, and also reached the duck cage to catch one.
Wang Fengwan ran toward the cage, but the elastic cord tightened again, launching her into the air. She hovered midair for a full ten seconds.
“Plop!”
She crashed hard into the mud.
“Ah!”
Wang Fengwan screamed, covered head to toe in mud.
Li Mengya sat beside the filming crew, watching the competition with a twitch at the corner of her eye. Participating in this show was a complete self-deprecating act. Even someone like Li Mengya, who enjoyed self-mockery, was beginning to reconsider joining.
“Jiang Yun, come help me!” Wang Fengwan shouted.
At that moment, Jiang Yun had already caught a duck and returned to the starting point, then set off again.
Jiang Yun walked over and helped Wang Fengwan up. “Do you have to be so reckless? You’re way too into this game!”
ps: Today’s four updates are dedicated to “Lonely Zhang Yi.”
