Jiang Yun left his room and went to Li Mengya’s room, then knocked on the door.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

“Click!”

The door opened from inside, and Li Mengya appeared before him.

Li Mengya glanced at Jiang Yun. “Come in!”

Jiang Yun rubbed his nose and walked inside.

He froze the moment he entered. Someone else was lying beneath the covers.

“Damn it!” Jiang Yun instantly flew into a rage. Who was that?!

He strode to the bed and yanked off the blanket. “Get up, you bastard!”

“What are you doing?!” Li Mengya cried out.

Once Jiang Yun saw who it was, he froze.

“Heh, heh, heh.” He gave an awkward laugh.

Wang Fengwan was lying on the bed in pink pajamas. Her delicate face was deathly pale, and cold sweat beaded her forehead.

Jiang Yun covered her back up and asked, “What happened to Fengwan?”

“She has a stomachache!”

Li Mengya poured a cup of warm water and went to the bedside to take care of Wang Fengwan.

Seeing that Li Mengya did not question his earlier actions, Jiang Yun breathed a sigh of relief.

“What happened? Is she sick?”

“It’s not really an illness. She’ll be fine after drinking some hot water.” Li Mengya touched Wang Fengwan’s forehead. “Oh! Why does she have a fever too?”

Jiang Yun rolled his eyes. “You’re really not very good at taking care of people!”

Li Mengya shot him an irritated look.

“What do you need me to do?” Jiang Yun asked.

“Go find a doctor!”

“All right!”

Jiang Yun left the room and called Shen Luo.

“Hello, Brother Luo! Do you know where I can find a private doctor in Zhijiang?”

“What happened?”

“Fengwan is sick!”

“I see. I’ll send you a phone number.”

“Okay!”

After hanging up, Jiang Yun contacted the private doctor.

When the call connected, he briefly explained the situation. “Wutong Hotel, Room 3008. Please come over.”

“All right!”

Jiang Yun hung up and returned to Li Mengya’s room.

He found Li Mengya flustered and struggling to take care of Wang Fengwan.

Jiang Yun rolled his eyes. “Is this how you take care of people? At this rate, you might send her straight to the afterlife!”

Li Mengya stared at him blankly. “Send her where?”

“Obviously, to the Western Paradise!”

“Drop dead!”

“Drop dead!”

Two voices rang out at once. Wang Fengwan had poked her head out from beneath the covers and was staring at Jiang Yun with an expression of utter speechlessness.

“Fengwan, you’re awake?” Li Mengya asked delightedly.

“Of course I’m awake. You two are making so much noise! Besides, if I didn’t wake up soon, someone would have cursed me to death.”

“Ring, ring, ring!”

The room’s telephone began to ring. Li Mengya answered it and found that it was the hotel reception desk.

“Yes, we’re the ones who called for the private doctor. Please send her up.”

A short while later, there was a knock on the door.

Jiang Yun opened it and saw a female doctor in a white coat standing outside.

“Hello, Mr. Jiang. My name is Lu Meiyun. I’ve served as a private doctor to many celebrities, so discretion is guaranteed.” Lu Meiyun extended her right hand.

Jiang Yun shook it. “Hello. Please, come in.”

Lu Meiyun entered the room and went to the bedside. After examining Wang Fengwan, she asked, “You drank alcohol, didn’t you?”

“Yes,” Wang Fengwan answered softly.

Lu Meiyun took a packet of some kind of medicine from her medical kit. “Dissolve this in boiling water and drink it.”

Just as Li Mengya was about to take it, Jiang Yun stepped forward. “I’ll do it.”

He took the packet, poured it into a shaker cup, filled the cup halfway at the water dispenser, and shook it until the medicine dissolved.

Then he handed the cup to Lu Meiyun.

Lu Meiyun accepted it and joked, “I didn’t expect you to be so good at taking care of people, Mr. Jiang.”

Jiang Yun smiled politely but said nothing.

Still, it was true. If Li Mengya had handled it, she would certainly have been running around in a panic.

Lu Meiyun helped Wang Fengwan sit up. Wang Fengwan took the cup and drank the medicine.

“Ugh, it’s so bitter, and it smells awful!”

But Wang Fengwan was not the delicate type. She gritted her teeth and gulped it down.

Lu Meiyun took out a piece of candy from her medical kit, unwrapped it, and handed it to Wang Fengwan.

Women really were more attentive. Jiang Yun sighed inwardly.

“Next, I’m going to give Miss Wang an injection. The gentleman will need to step outside for a moment.”

“Hey! Gentleman, she means you!” Li Mengya said.

“Huh? What is it?” Jiang Yun asked, coming back to himself.

“The gentleman needs to step outside.”

“Oh, oh, right!”

Jiang Yun left the room.

After a while, Li Mengya called out, “You can come back in!”

Jiang Yun entered the room and saw that Wang Fengwan was already lying on the bed, fast asleep.

Lu Meiyun rose to her feet. “I’ll be going now. Call me if anything happens.”

“All right!”

After thinking for a moment, Lu Meiyun added, “Mr. Jiang, this medicine is one tablet per dose, three times a day, after meals.”

“This one is two tablets per dose, three times a day, also after meals. This powdered medicine is one packet per dose, three times a day, after meals.”

“Oh, oh, right!”

Jiang Yun nodded and committed the instructions to memory.

After Lu Meiyun left, Li Mengya asked in confusion, “Why did she give the instructions to you instead of me?”

“Because if you take care of someone, you’ll end up sending them straight to the afterlife!”

“You bastard! Go to hell!”

Jiang Yun returned to his room. Fortunately, filming for Back to the Field would not begin until the following day. Otherwise, today’s incident might have delayed the shoot.

The next day, Wang Fengwan, Ren Xing, and Zhu Yin would record Back to the Field as special guests. Jiang Yun would be there as well, but this time he would not be representing the regular cast. He would be representing the production crew of Battle Against the Heavens.

To promote Battle Against the Heavens, Jiang Yun had already recorded Running and Silver Medal. The next day, he would also record Back to the Field.

Liu Guoqiang’s promotional campaign spared no effort.

At lunchtime, Jiang Yun ordered food from the hotel restaurant and had it delivered to Li Mengya’s room.

When he arrived, Wang Fengwan was already able to sit up. That morning, she had looked terrifyingly pale, and several times Jiang Yun had thought she might actually keel over.

“Come on, take your medicine.” Jiang Yun carried a glass of water and brought the medicine to Wang Fengwan.

Wang Fengwan took the pills and swallowed them in one go.

Jiang Yun prepared the powdered medicine as well. “Here. Drink this.”

Wang Fengwan took it and drank it down.

“Urgh!”

She gagged slightly.

Imitating Lu Meiyun, Jiang Yun unwrapped a piece of candy and handed it to her.

“Thank you!”

“You’re welcome!”

After making sure Wang Fengwan had taken her medicine, Jiang Yun left the room.

Back in his own room, Jiang Yun settled into doing absolutely nothing.

He called Li Lulu.

“Hello, Boss. What’s up?”

“How is the game department restructuring coming along?” Jiang Yun asked.

“It’s already complete. I’ve also arranged the personnel transfers and everything else.” Li Lulu’s voice came through the phone.

Jiang Yun said, “Go to my office. There are two game design proposals in one of the drawers. Take them out and give them to Zheng Tong and the others.”

“All right, Boss!”

“Good.”

Jiang Yun hung up, then lay on the bed and started playing games.

After a few rounds, he became so furious that he deleted his account outright—and made sure it could never be recovered.

By afternoon, Wang Fengwan was already able to get out of bed and walk.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

Li Mengya hurried to the door and opened it. Jiang Yun walked in with both hands in his pockets.

“Have you ordered dinner?”

“Not yet. I’ll do it now,” Li Mengya replied.

“Mm.”

Jiang Yun entered the room and sat down in a chair.

A little while later, hotel staff delivered dinner to the room.

The three of them began to eat.
