"Huh? What's going on?"
"Did Su Yunjin find a treasure trove?"
"Could it be... wait, did I just stumble upon a secret?"
The camera followed Su Yunjin, capturing her every move for the audience. While everyone had previously been anxious about her unhurried pace, they were now completely bewildered.
The reason? The items Su Yunjin was picking up were not just anything—they were sanitary pads and... condoms!
If the sanitary pads were somewhat understandable, the condoms were truly mind-boggling. Who uses condoms for wilderness survival? Was this some kind of joke?
Many netizens were shocked by Su Yunjin’s choice, and behind the scenes, the staff watching her hoard condoms felt their faces flush with embarrassment. One staff member whispered, "Is it really okay to take so many of those?"
"But I think Su Yunjin is actually quite far-sighted. You never know, right? Having a few condoms around could actually be useful."
"But this is..."
Many looked at Su Yunjin with indescribable expressions as she gathered the pads and condoms.
Just as the debate grew heated, a staff member who understood the basic rules of wilderness survival spoke up. "What are you all going on about? Condoms aren't just for that purpose. In the wild, they can be used as water bladders, tourniquets, or even as watertight seals."
"Huh?"
"What did you think?" the knowledgeable staffer retorted, rolling their eyes.
In the live stream, many people familiar with military training began to chime in, explaining the fundamental rules of survival. Among them, condoms were indeed considered one of the most essential tools in the wild, alongside medicine, water, and food. While food and water could be scavenged, and even medicine—though seemingly hard to come by—could be substituted with basic botanical knowledge to sustain life, specialized gear was invaluable.
Twenty minutes passed quickly. Su Yunjin and the others emerged from the supply depot.
"Yunjin, did you only take that little bit?"
Upon exiting, Guan Tongyue was the first to notice Su Yunjin’s backpack. In reality, Su Yunjin’s bag was already bulging; after securing the most essential supplies, she had even helped pack extra items for the others. However, compared to the backpacks of her companions, which looked ready to burst, hers seemed quite small.
"Is this little?" Su Yunjin lifted her bag; it was actually quite heavy.
"Look at me, I’ve taken so much stuff, I can barely fit anything else in," Guan Tongyue said, struggling to lift her own pack.
"Indeed, Yunjin didn't take much. We’re going to be in the wilderness for four or five days; this might not be enough," Zheng E added, sounding worried.
Just then, Zhang Xiaoxiao remarked sarcastically, "I'm just afraid some people are too lazy to carry the weight and will end up begging for our supplies later."
The dig at Su Yunjin was obvious. As soon as he finished, Guan Tongyue and Zheng E shot him a look.
Su Yunjin let out a cold laugh. "I doubt we'll have any use for what you’ve brought, Teacher Zhang. Skincare products? Do you really think I’ll be washing my face and applying moisturizer in the wild?"
Zhang Xiaoxiao rolled his eyes. "I brought them for everyone, okay? Besides, we have a division of labor. Chuchu has food, Yueyue has water and food, and Zheng E has the tent, socks, and clothes. As for you, Teacher Su, what did you bring? From what I saw, nothing useful at all."
"Whether it’s useful or not, Teacher Zhang will find out soon enough. There’s a reason for every item I chose," Su Yunjin retorted sharply.
Zhang Xiaoxiao rolled his eyes again, clearly done with the conversation.
After the brief verbal skirmish, Xu Zhang approached. Once the team’s supplies were inspected, they boarded the truck. After a bumpy ride of fifteen to twenty minutes, they finally arrived at the site for their wilderness training.
Looking out, it was an eerie, ominous place. The trees were so dense they blocked out the sun, and the forest echoed with the sound of wind through the ravines. The sunlight filtered through layers of leaves like shattered glass. However, the air smelled wonderful. Su Yunjin closed her eyes and took a deep breath, the scent of damp earth and greenery filling her lungs, making her feel refreshed.
"The air smells so good."
"It feels like a natural oxygen bar."
"It would be perfect if we weren't actually going to be stuck here for seven days."
Guan Tongyue, Zhang Chuchu, and Zhang Xiaoxiao spoke one after another.
In the live stream, the camera shifted away from the guests to capture an establishing shot. A lush forest, a shimmering river in the distance, the sun spilling across the horizon, and birds flying through the sky—it had an ethereal, fairyland beauty. For a moment, the comment section was filled with awe.
But soon, the camera pulled back to the guests.
As the vehicle departed, they had to set up camp in the area. Guan Tongyue took out the tent they had prepared, and they worked together to pitch it.
"I feel like this is just like camping. We brought plenty of supplies; we’ll be fine for five days," Zheng E said, looking happy.
But just then, a drone dropped a card that landed right on top of Zheng E’s head. He picked it up, read it, and froze. "Oh no, we have a mission!"
"What mission?"
"We have to pick only three items from everything we brought to keep. They’re taking the rest away in a moment."
"What?!"
Guan Tongyue was shocked. Zhang Chuchu began to panic. A tense atmosphere spread instantly. The group, previously excited, wilted like frosted eggplants.
Only Su Yunjin remained calm. She turned to her backpack and began to evaluate what could be discarded.
"So, what should we keep?"
"Are we really going to keep nothing in this humid forest?"
"Damn it, how is my skin going to handle this?" Zhang Xiaoxiao stomped his feet in frustration. "If we knew this would happen, why make us carry so much? Are we all idiots?"
Seeing Su Yunjin organizing her bag, Guan Tongyue began to do the same, dumping her items out. "Let’s discuss what’s best to keep."
"You should keep a bottle of water, some food, and if you have medicine, keep some of that. I’m keeping my sanitary pads and items that can double as medical tools," Su Yunjin advised without looking back.
"Will that work?"
"If there’s no tent, should we keep an umbrella?" Guan Tongyue pulled out a colorful floral umbrella she had desperately crammed in, fearing the forest rain would ruin her skin.
"No, not an umbrella. It’s too dangerous at night; it could easily make you a target for animals," Su Yunjin said, shaking her head. "But you can keep a raincoat. Did you bring one?"
Guan Tongyue shook her head.
"Then you can use mine," Su Yunjin said, pulling a raincoat from her bag.
"How did you think to bring a raincoat?" Guan Tongyue paused, then asked anxiously, "What about you?"
"I have a thermal emergency blanket. I’ll use that if it rains."
With that, Su Yunjin took out the emergency blanket. She then laid out her knife, the sanitary pads, and the condoms—her preparations were complete.
Once she had sorted her own gear, Su Yunjin finally turned her attention to the others. The news had been too sudden. Guan Tongyue and Zheng E were agonizing over what to keep, and Zhang Chuchu was no better.
Zhang Xiaoxiao was the most conflicted; his bag was filled with cosmetics—mosquito repellent, sunscreen, moisturizer. He picked one up, put another down, looking at the others with helpless, teary eyes, only to bury his head back into his bag, struggling to choose.
