After Leaving the Mountains, I Rock the Entertainment Industry with Folk Songs Blazing flames surged like a raging inferno. 2459 words 2026-02-09 13:02:26

This special training had been part of the plan from the very beginning. Now that the C-Position Girl Group project had reached this stage, it was necessary to make a recorded broadcast, to be aired later on television. The purpose was twofold: first, to let the audience see the training process of the C-Position Girl Group; second, to avoid losing too much popularity during the actual live broadcast.

The location for this special training was set at the Imperial Capital Music Academy. All girl group members were required to attend classes there, but before classes commenced, they had to undergo military training.

“Seriously? Military training?”
“Huh? Again?”
“Oh my god, why do we have to do military training? Can’t we just study directly?”

When Su Yunjin and the other mentors delivered this news to the trainees after the meeting, these pampered girls started to wail in despair. Memories of the fear instilled by military training in previous years left them dispirited. Some looked forward to this special training, but they were few and far between.

Regardless of anticipation or reluctance, the special training arrived in early August. During this period, two events took place.

The first was that Song Yazhi, the predetermined candidate, grew increasingly popular. This was partly due to behind-the-scenes management, and partly because of Song Yazhi’s outstanding professional skills. No matter the reason, she now had her own fan club, mostly composed of female fans, and even had a support group on social media.

The second event affected only Su Yunjin: her Fifth Grandfather planned to come down from the mountain to treat Lu Yihong. Since she was already in the city, Fifth Grandfather called early, saying they would go to the Lu family together. Su Yunjin wanted to refuse, but after some thought, she realized the matter with Lu Yiqing would have to be resolved sooner or later, so she didn’t refuse again. Keeping Fifth Grandfather’s visit in mind, Su Yunjin participated in the military training with the trainees.

As a mentor, she naturally did not have to endure the sun and rain like the girl group members, but the mentors were not exactly relaxed either. Next, the three groups of trainees would be merged and gradually selected to form the optimal girl group, eventually debuting as a ten-member mini group. Of course, this debut was only on the stage of the C-Position Girl Group; in reality, it was just a way to build fame. Their future paths in the entertainment industry would depend on themselves, for in this vast whirlpool, resources seldom go to those who keep out of trouble.

Military training was scheduled for August 3rd. Su Yunjin and the five groups of mentors led their trainees to the Imperial Capital Music Academy. The instructors were already waiting inside, all handpicked from nearby bases or units.

Because they had spent the morning on the road and were about to start military training, the girl group members were all sluggish and dispirited. Su Yunjin expected this gloomy mood to last a long time. Yet, less than half an hour later, she was drawn to the commotion of excited voices.

“Wow, he’s so handsome!”
“Mister, what’s your name?”
“Can we have your contact info?”

Following the cries of excitement, Su Yunjin saw the man surrounded by the trainees. He stood about six foot two, with a lean but powerful build, a closely cropped haircut, thick brows and sharp eyes—not at all like the current mainstream pretty boys. While handsome, those types often lacked a sense of masculinity after prolonged observation. This man, though, was both handsome and brimming with strength. His wheat-colored skin and muscular physique under his uniform were irresistibly attractive to the girls.

As Su Yunjin watched, the soldier surrounded by the girls turned and saw her. Almost instantly, his brown eyes lit up, and he hurriedly ran over. “Wife, help me! Save me!”

Su Yunjin: “…”

Damn it.

Had he really become so shameless?

She was inwardly embarrassed, but at this moment, Su Yunjin truly couldn’t claim not to know him.

Fu Lin.

That reckless guy from the fire brigade.

While Su Yunjin was speechless, Fu Lin jogged over and hid behind her, looking like a little rabbit beset by wolves. With his tall, muscular frame towering behind Su Yunjin, the scene was utterly incongruous, yet he shamelessly crouched behind her.

“Mr. Fu, we’re not that close, are we?” Su Yunjin was exasperated.

When Fu Lin had called out “wife, wife” earlier, Shao Xinghui, Wang Tao, Liang Feiyue, and Luo Zizhen shot her sharp, knife-like glances.

Fu Lin, hiding behind Su Yunjin, paused for a moment. “How are we not close? You’re my lifesaver—this was even on the news!”

“That was just incidental,” Su Yunjin replied, rubbing her brow in frustration.

Fu Lin wouldn’t let it go. “A matter of life and death isn’t incidental. Haven’t you heard the saying? ‘A debt of gratitude for saving one’s life can only be repaid with oneself.’”

Su Yunjin’s expression darkened.

Before she could speak, Fu Lin ducked his head, hiding behind her. “I don’t care. You saved me once, you have to save me a second time. Oh, it’s so scary, really scary. You girls are terrifying.”

Su Yunjin: “…”

Is he socially fearless or what?!

In her mind, Su Yunjin was already considering tossing him over her shoulder.

But the next moment, Shao Xinghui walked over. “Yunjin, is this your friend?”

“Well…” Su Yunjin hesitated, unsure how to introduce Fu Lin.

She saw Fu Lin, who had just been bashfully hiding behind her, suddenly step to her side and declare proudly, “Not a friend—she’s my wife.”

“Mr. Fu!!” Su Yunjin rolled her eyes dramatically.

She had made herself clear last time. How could he be so shameless?

Su Yunjin was about to have a fit, but Fu Lin seemed entirely unconcerned, grinning and asking, “What’s wrong, Miss Su?”

“Coach Fu, I don’t think this joke is very funny,” Shao Xinghui’s cold voice sounded as Su Yunjin rolled her eyes.

“How do you know I’m joking?” Fu Lin responded, dead serious now, with a hint of dissatisfaction in his tone.

Although Su Yunjin and Fu Lin had only met a few times, apart from the first polite encounter, the second time he made a direct confession, and now on the third, he changed his approach. In short, he was utterly shameless.

Su Yunjin didn’t bother arguing further and said to Shao Xinghui, “Teacher Shao, let’s get the trainees organized and head to the dormitory.”
