Time slipped away, and amidst this fulfilling busyness, Hua Feng, Yun Meng, Bai Feng, and the many other students selected from across the world learned more about the deepest secrets that had once been hidden from humanity. On this day, they began their study and research into the Thirteen Clans of the Kindred.

**Brujah**
The Brujah are the most combat-oriented of all the Kindred clans. It is true that, fundamentally, the Brujah possess the finest physical constitution among the Kindred. However, the complexity of their beliefs is also among the highest. One can find everything from neo-Nazis to environmentalists within their ranks. To outsiders, the Brujah appear as a mere rabble, brought together only by their shared contempt for authority.

This claim is not entirely accurate. There is a joke that the only reason the Brujah remain within the Camarilla is that none of them can agree on who should fill out the resignation forms. In reality, the lack of unity among the Brujah stems primarily from their numbers; no other clan has as many members who identify as Anarchs. It is fair to say that every night, some Brujah defect from the Camarilla. Even those who remain are often troublesome for elders and Princes alike. Nonetheless, the Brujah are considered essential warriors—for in face-to-face combat, no vampire is more fearsome.

The Brujah are allies of the Gangrel and enemies of the Ravnos and Ventrue. The ancestor of the Brujah was Troile, who consumed the blood of the original Brujah. Today’s descendants are known as the True Brujah, while those descended from Troile are the common Brujah. The clan is divided into three main factions: The Iconoclasts (the true anarchs), who lash out at everything and respect no institution or authority; they observe the Masquerade, but only to protect themselves. The Idealists: most older Brujah and nearly all clan elders belong to this faction. They draw wisdom and guidance from history, believing that the Brujah should unite to build a new Carthage. The Individualists: a compromise between the two previous factions, they work together for the future of the clan but do not demand the blind obedience that the Idealists expect.

**Gangrel**
The Gangrel are perhaps the clan closest to the core of nature. These nomadic loners dislike the constraints of society and prefer the comfort of the wild. How they avoid the attacks of werewolves in the wilderness remains a mystery. Perhaps they possess the ability to alter their forms to deceive others; if someone claims to have seen a vampire turn into a wolf or a bat, it is almost certainly a Gangrel. Like the Brujah, the Gangrel are formidable warriors. Unlike the Brujah, however, their ferocity in battle stems not from lawless rage, but from their animal instincts. The Gangrel yearn to understand the Beast within their souls. At night, they communicate with animals. When a Gangrel’s inner Beast spirals out of control (Frenzy), their body undergoes irreversible changes, taking on animalistic traits—sometimes their eyes become feline, their feet may turn into claws, or they may even grow a tail. Thus, many elder Gangrel look more like beasts than humans, and in rare cases, their consciousness also shifts toward an animalistic state.

**Malkavian**
Even the most abhorrent creatures fear the Malkavians. Their cursed blood has tainted their minds. Shortly after the Embrace, a Malkavian descends into madness—provided they were not already insane beforehand. Their symptoms are diverse: megalomania, paranoia, and multiple personality disorder are common; in truth, there is no symptom that has not manifested. Malkavians are generally considered extremely dangerous. Governed by sudden impulses and inexplicable hallucinations, they have been known to turn their blades on other Kindred. Furthermore, their madness renders them immune to the fear of pain or Final Death, making them incredibly difficult to subdue. For this reason, they are ostracized by Kindred society. Yet, beneath the veneer of madness, Malkavians often possess extraordinary insight, or even wisdom.

**Nosferatu**
Due to their hideously distorted appearances, the Nosferatu must remain apart from human society, living underground rather than hiding among mortals like other vampires. The Nosferatu become more grotesque with each passing day following the Embrace. Other Kindred shun these dwellers of sewers and catacombs, viewing them as loathsome creatures and avoiding them unless absolutely necessary. Because of their ugliness and the stigma they carry, they strive to remain unseen while moving on the surface, which gives them a better understanding of the city’s dark alleys and corners than any other creature. Combined with their superior stealth and eavesdropping skills, not a single movement in the city escapes the notice of the Nosferatu. Moreover, due to their shared disability and the contempt they endure, the Nosferatu are exceptionally unified; the infighting seen in other clans does not exist here. Because of this solidarity, offending one member is equivalent to offending the entire clan—a terrifying prospect.

**Toreador**
The Toreador have many monikers, including "The Degenerates," "Artists," "Poseurs," or even "Hedonists." But any generalization is a distortion and an insult to the clan as a whole. Depending on their individual circumstances and current temperament, the Toreador span the spectrum from elegant to gaudy, brilliant to foolish, and visionary to aimless. Perhaps the only universal trait is their aesthetic passion. The Toreador approach everything they do with intensity. In their view, eternal life should be savored. Many were painters, musicians, or poets in life, while others spend centuries in laughable attempts at artistic creation. Like the Ventrue, the Toreador enjoy high society, but unlike the Ventrue who lead the Camarilla, the Toreador dislike tedious administrative duties. They frequent the upper echelons to be noticed and admired—achieved through their witty banter, graceful manners, and a lifestyle that is simple yet filled with passion.

**Tremere**
The Tremere are one of the youngest known clans, founded during the early Dark Ages. The original members were a group of human mages seeking eternal life. Helped by an unknown power, they attained vampirism through alchemy, sorcery, and the blood of a Tzimisce elder. They soon discovered that their original spells no longer held the same potency. However, through study and devotion, they mastered a new form of magic—Thaumaturgy, which is fueled by the power of blood. Because of the way they became vampires, they were initially enemies of other clans. Yet, thanks to their contributions in resisting the Inquisition—the human-led war to exterminate supernatural beings—and their strict adherence to the Masquerade, the Tremere finally secured a place within the Camarilla. Within the sect, the Tremere have proven themselves to be powerful allies—and, of course, dangerous enemies. In fact, the Tremere use their magic for the Camarilla almost as often as they use it for themselves.

**Ventrue**
Refined and aristocratic, the Ventrue are the leaders of the Camarilla. They uphold the foundations of the sect and have guided its members through the most perilous times. Even in the modern age, the Princes of most cities are Ventrue. In ancient times, new Ventrue were chosen from nobles, wealthy merchants, or other members of the upper class. In the modern era, they are selected from business dynasties, corporate leaders, or influential politicians. Regardless of their past lives, the Ventrue are responsible for enforcing the ancient traditions and determining the direction of the Camarilla. If you ask a Ventrue about their clan’s role, they will reply that the Masquerade depends entirely on them for enforcement; without them, the Masquerade would not be upheld, and without the Masquerade, the Kindred would cease to exist. Although they frequent high society like the Toreador, they have no interest in vanity or idle gossip. Some other Kindred mistakenly view them as arrogant and greedy, but for the Ventrue themselves, the burden of leadership carries far more weight than any honor.
