138 Youyi: A 1LP immortality cheat—tell me, how could I possibly lose?

"Is... is this the third Egyptian God?"

"The highest-ranking existence among the three!"

"It is said that in both status and power, The Winged Dragon of Ra far surpasses Slifer the Sky Dragon and Obelisk the Tormentor that appeared before!"

"..."

Gazing at the golden giant bird standing behind Yugi, everyone before the screens began to discuss it once more. They had expected the third Egyptian God to be summoned by President Youyi, its master, and at the climax of the duel; yet unexpectedly, Yugi had claimed it for himself using a single spell card, effortlessly gathering the three required tributes.

"Ra's first ability: its own attack and defense values are determined by the sum of the attack and defense points of the three monsters used as tributes."

The sacrificed monsters:
Dark Magician: 2500 ATK, 2000 DEF
Dark Magician Girl: 2000 ATK, 1700 DEF
Elemental Hero Gaia: 1700 ATK, 1000 DEF

Therefore, the attack and defense stats of The Winged Dragon of Ra were—

"Hiss! Over six thousand attack points!"

"With stats like that, only Obelisk’s effect or Slifer’s power based on the controller's hand size could reach such heights!"

"Determining its own power based on the three tributes... This effect alone far exceeds that of most monsters!"

After the calculations were done and the specific power of the Winged Dragon was revealed, everyone was stunned. Under normal circumstances, a single attack like that would cripple the opponent!

"Next, I activate Ra's second ability! I pay my Life Points down to 1, and the remaining amount is added to the Winged Dragon's attack points!"

"Nani!?"

Hearing Yugi's declaration, Youyi was completely dumbfounded.

No, wait! The Winged Dragon's second ability—"fusing" with its controller—could only be used if the Dragon was resurrected from the Graveyard. You summoned it normally; you can't possibly fuse with it!

However, as Yugi played a card, Youyi was rendered speechless.

"That's right! Under normal conditions, Ra's second ability can only be used after it is revived from the Graveyard. But what if I have this card?"

As he spoke, Yugi revealed one of the three cards in his hand.

"The Spell Card 'Polymerization'! It allows me to perform a standard fusion with the Winged Dragon! This way, even without being revived from the Graveyard, I can still use its second ability."

Youyi: "..."

Youyi was speechless, yet the Duel System, jointly developed by Industrial Illusions and KaibaCorp, recognized Yugi's "logic"!

The "Polymerization" activated on the field truly added all of Yugi's sacrificed 4,000-plus Life Points to the Winged Dragon behind him.

"Skreeee—!"

Empowered by the Life Points of its true master, the Pharaoh, the Winged Dragon let out a piercing cry toward the heavens. For the first time since its debut in the Duel Monsters game, its power had reached such a height!

"Whoa!!"

Good grief! I mean, seriously!

First, he brought his own Life Points to an unprecedented 10,000 LP, and now he has empowered his monster—no, the Egyptian God Winged Dragon—to over 10,500 attack points!

Is he even human?! You, Yugi Muto, are the true "Egyptian God"!!!

"Now! Let's enter the Battle Phase!"

As his true master Yugi commanded, The Winged Dragon of Ra began to accumulate divine power in the golden ring behind its head.

"The Winged Dragon of Ra! Launch the final strike against Youyi-kun’s Hero monster! God Blaze Cannon!!"

"Skree!"

The scorching beam of light fired by the Sun God struck instantly before Youyi, leaving no room for a counterattack!

A world-shaking explosion, followed by a pillar of smoke reaching the sky. After a long wait, the dust and smoke finally cleared.

"I knew Youyi-kun wouldn't be an opponent so easily defeated!"

His body was covered in dirt from the debris, but Youyi stood firm at his dueling position.

Yugi expected this; if Youyi had lost so easily, he wouldn't be the duelist he acknowledged!

"Cough, cough! The effect of Elemental Hero Core: when targeted for an attack by an opponent's monster, its attack points are doubled until the end of the Damage Step!"

Coughing a few times to clear the dust from his mouth, Youyi explained Core's effect while casting a mournful look at the Winged Dragon behind Yugi, until the creature couldn't help but turn its head away in discomfort.

"Doubled to the original value... counting Youyi-kun's 5,000 Life Points, that's a total of 10,400. Compared to my Winged Dragon's attack power, it's still 100 points short."

Ignoring the single digits, he treated it as 10,500 attack points.

Being short by a hundred, Youyi's calculation was correct, so the variable must lie in his face-down card.

Quick-Play Spell—Angel Dice!

"Eh! Youyi actually carries the same card as me!?"

Angel Dice could be called a signature spell of Joey Wheeler, who relied on his extraordinary luck to give his weak monsters a chance to overcome powerful ones!

"My version of this card is different from Joey's; you could call it the second edition."

Youyi heard Joey's comment. The dice Joey used were from the anime version, whereas his was the OCG version.

"After Angel Dice is activated, all monsters on my field gain attack power based on the die roll. For every point, the monster gains 100 attack."

"Then you..."

As he spoke, Yugi glanced at the projection of Youyi's Life Points, and upon seeing it, he was stunned.

"Ah, this..."

His original 5,000 Life Points had dropped to 1 point. What did that mean?

Winged Dragon's 10,499 ATK - Core's 5,400 ATK - Youyi's 5,000 LP = 99 points of overflow damage = Youyi at -99 LP.

It meant Youyi's luck was so terrible he rolled a "1"!

Everyone: "..."

President Youyi's luck... seems a little bit bad.

If Youyi could hear their thoughts, he wouldn't be saddened by his luck; instead, he would laugh aloud:

This, my friends, is the ultimate "locked Life Points" strategy! To win this match against the King of Games—who possesses the powers of "logic-bending," "God-tier draws," and "printing cards"—one must first lock their own Life Points, and it has to be the most extreme lock possible!
