Chapter Seventy-Four: The Earth Sovereign, Blazing Gale Fire Wheels
The unusual actions of Xu Wen and his companions finally drew the adventurers’ attention. A four-star warrior seemed to sense something amiss. He turned his head, descended two steps from the stairs, and pointed his sword over with an air of authority.
“You brats, what are you up to?”
It was no wonder he only spoke without making a move—he was already in his thirties, a four-star swordsman. If he let a few one-star kids get him all worked up, his companions would never let him hear the end of it.
Besides, they were here solely to make a quick fortune, not to invite trouble. While these opponents weren’t particularly strong, if they pushed these soldiers too far, they might not get out of Starfall Town alive.
Seeing the city guards acting so meekly toward the youngsters, the adventurers dared not go overboard. However, within seconds, several magicians sensed something was wrong…
There was a distinct surge of magical power from Xu Wen’s group. Though their cultivation was only at the one-star level, the intensity of their magical condensation was rivaling that of the adventurer magicians!
“They’re four-star magicians! Attack! Don’t let them finish their spells!” The five-star magician on the right side of the gate was the first to react, shouting in shock.
They had actually been deceived by a few brats, who under their very noses were condensing four-star magic. The four-star adventurers were thrown into chaos.
“How dare you!”
With a furious roar, the five-star warrior on the left was instantly covered in a deep red aura of battle energy. He leapt high like an eagle, landing heavily in the center of the street, then shot forward, each stride spanning five or six meters, quickly closing the dozens of meters between himself and the four youths. Xu Wen’s heart pounded—he noticed that with each landing, the warrior shattered the bluestone bricks of the street beneath his feet.
If someone like that got close, the consequences were unthinkable!
“Stop him!”
Without needing orders from Xu Wen and the others, the eight city guards had already joined the fray, forming a neat line in front of the four youths. As the burly man drew within twenty meters, several beams of various colors slashed through the air.
The city guards had long harbored deep resentment toward these adventurers. They had hoped to make a fortune, only to have the spoils snatched away by this group of interlopers. If they’d had magicians at their side, they would never have let the adventurers run rampant for so long.
Now, seeing the four youths had broken their seals and each possessed the strength of a four-star magician, the guards’ confidence soared.
Fortunately for them, they were unaware that among the adventurers were two five-star experts. Had they known, they would have fled long ago.
Though the five-star warrior’s battle energy was formidable, and he withstood the attacks of the eight guards, his advance was still briefly halted. He could only watch as Xu Wen and his companions’ magic rapidly took shape.
“Courting death!”
Fuming with rage, he was nonetheless forced to stop under the magical lock-on, pouring his energy into forming a solidified armor around himself. He had already noticed that the weapons in the hands of the four youths were all fine pieces, each enhancing the destructive power of their magic—far stronger than those of any other four-star magician in their group. Two of the spells in particular sent chills down his spine, filling him with a sense of impending doom.
“Go!”
He Chen was the first to complete his spell. Without the slightest hesitation, he unleashed it like a bolt of lightning!
It was like a golden circular saw, spinning rapidly, flying and twisting at a speed no slower than wind magic, hurtling straight for the five-star warrior’s face, just twenty meters away!
The moment the spell appeared, everyone present was stunned!
The adventurers immediately realized the gravity of their mistake—they had provoked trouble they should never have touched!
He Chen’s spell was clearly an evolved version of the four-star fire spell “Blazing Windfire Wheel,” yet its power surpassed the original by far.
Golden flames!
The magic was more refined, the attack more forceful!
Everything happened too fast for the five-star warrior to process—the golden light struck his body—
Boom!
His burly frame was lifted off the ground and sent flying backward.
The newly-formed energy armor shattered completely, and a deep, charred gash was scorched across his chest and abdomen.
“Boss!”
Several adventurers following behind rushed to catch him, only to discover their leader had already lost consciousness in midair and was now barely hanging onto life.
“Second Brother!”
“Boss won’t make it!”
Even as they spoke, they lifted him up, preparing to flee. The terrifying attack from these youths had left them shaken to the core.
A four-star spell of Emperor-class? Unbelievable!
“Trying to run?”
Nishikawa Hideki let out a cold laugh and cast his spell.
“Watch out!”
The adventurers instantly sensed danger—a searing heat flooded overhead. A raging wave of fire crashed from the sky!
Four-star spell—Explosion!
The adventurers, along with their unconscious five-star leader, were engulfed by the massive fireball.
But at that instant, they caught a glimpse of the opposing five-star water magician producing a magic scroll, which activated just in time to shield them before the explosion struck.
As the flames faded…
A massive water-element shield was revealed, within which the adventurers stood, faces pale.
Boom!
Nangong Xueyan’s face turned ashen as nine fireballs, each thirty centimeters in diameter, smashed into the shield, only to be absorbed one after another. The two magicians quietly clutched their own scrolls, saving them for a last resort. The defensive magic of a five-star magician could not be easily breached by four-star spells.
One threat remained. If they didn’t act quickly, and the five-star magician’s spell landed, they’d be doomed…
The five-star magician had lost all reason; with his captain’s fate uncertain, he cared for nothing but killing these youths. His face was twisted with rage and malice. Even protected by the chaotic water wall, his murderous intent radiated clearly, his incantation rapidly approaching completion as the surrounding water elements surged violently.
“It’s a five-star area spell!”
“Everyone, get out of the way!”
He Chen’s face changed dramatically, panic flickering in his eyes. He had sensed the deadly force contained in the opponent’s intensified incantation.
Rain of Ice Arrows!
The enemy magician intended to annihilate them all with a group-destruction spell.
This was bad! He didn’t know why Xu Wen had yet to release his spell, but he knew it would take considerable effort to break through a five-star magician’s activated defense spell—neither the five-star nor the four of them together could do it quickly!
Rain of Ice Arrows was a sustained water-type attack spell, its barrage relentless and deadly. The most urgent thing now was to escape the area of effect…
He was about to pull Xu Wen back when, from the corner of his eye, he glimpsed a familiar six-colored light vanishing from in front of Xu Wen…
Suddenly, the ground shook violently!
Everyone stared, dumbfounded, as a massive fireball plummeted from the sky, landing abruptly atop the five-star magician’s head!
Boom!
With thunderous force, the fireball exploded on impact, unleashing hundreds, thousands of firebolts in all directions!
The nearest five-star magician, together with his defensive magic, was torn apart in an instant. The adventurers in the street, deprived of protection, were immediately riddled with holes;
It was as if an armory had exploded—amid the deafening barrage, nearby buildings were devastated, countless holes appearing in their walls. A third of the El family’s commercial building was left in ruins! Inside, a few surviving adventurers, faces deathly pale, stared at the walls riddled with holes and the floor strewn with corpses, their legs buckling beneath them.

Soon, the new book ranking will be over.
A sigh for the passing moment.
I hope there’s still a chance to make it to the main rankings. Now at sixteenth place, I can only sigh with a cold sweat—otherwise, the name “Little Black” will disappear from the homepage.
