Lu Ming hadn't even finished bragging when a pillow suddenly flew toward him.

"Go to hell, you!"

Lu Ming dodged in a hurry and said, "Damn, you’re acting so differently from last night."

Huo Yutong’s cheeks flushed even deeper.

She’d been drugged, her mind hazy, and all she remembered was calling Lu Ming. After that, everything was a blur. When she woke up this morning, she found herself in Lu Ming’s room. Thankfully, nothing seemed wrong with her body. She realized Lu Ming had saved her. Yet, in her vague memory, she recalled fleeting moments of physical contact with him — and possibly even tearing her own clothes. These scattered, indistinct recollections had left her unsettled all morning.

Seeing her expression, Lu Ming chuckled.

"Alright, enough teasing. I got there in time, saved you, detoxified you, and you fell asleep. That’s all."

Huo Yutong exhaled, knowing Lu Ming said this to comfort her and spare her embarrassment. Still, her heart felt sweet.

Suddenly, she remembered she was still naked and quickly said, "Bring me my bag. I'll have someone send me clothes."

"Bag? What bag?" Lu Ming was puzzled.

Huo Yutong frowned. "Didn't you bring my bag when you took me back?"

Lu Ming felt a headache coming on. "Miss, I was too busy saving you to think about your bag."

Just then, Lu Ming’s phone rang. When he pulled it out, the caller ID showed Huo Yutong.

He was surprised, then shook the phone and said, "Someone will bring your bag soon."

He answered the call.

"Hello," Lu Ming said.

The person on the other end hesitated for a moment, then suddenly said, "You brat, it really is you! Do you remember hitting me yesterday?"

"Haha, of course I do. That kick felt pretty good," Lu Ming replied lazily.

The other person erupted in rage. "Damn you, kid! If you’ve got guts, come to Kunmao Hotel today. I’ll treat you to a full banquet!"

Lu Ming laughed. "Sounds like a trap. Alright, what time?"

"Noon, twelve o’clock. Emperor Hall, third floor," the other man growled.

Lu Ming laughed heartily. "No problem. Order plenty of dishes. And make sure my girlfriend’s bag is safe. If anything’s missing, I’ll break one of your fingers."

"Hmph, no problem. And don’t forget — if you don’t show up, Huo Yutong won’t escape, and I’ll find you too."

"Relax. I wouldn’t let a piece of trash like you bother me every day. Clean yourself up and wait."

With that, Lu Ming hung up.

"What’s going on?" Huo Yutong asked anxiously.

Lu Ming smiled. "That fat idiot found my number from your phone and called to invite us to dinner."

"How did he know calling you would reach me?" Huo Yutong was puzzled.

Lu Ming explained, "You forgot — your last call was to me."

Huo Yutong finally understood.

But she immediately grew worried. "This man has quite the background — he's the richest man in Xijing, a tycoon in the Northwest Province. He failed last night and you beat him up. I doubt he means well today."

"Don’t worry. I’ll take care of everything. Tomorrow, I’ll deal with him properly. So he's rich? Tomorrow, I’ll bury him with money," Lu Ming said confidently.

For reasons she couldn’t explain, Huo Yutong trusted him. Seeing his calm assurance, she no longer worried. She borrowed his phone and called her mother, claiming she’d gotten her clothes wet while playing in the water and needed a set sent over. After the call, they chatted for a while until the driver arrived with her clothes.

Huo Yutong sent Lu Ming downstairs and dressed upstairs.

Lu Ming, bored, lounged on the sofa smoking. Soon, Huo Yutong came down.

The driver had brought a casual short skirt outfit — a round-neck, low-cut T-shirt and a straight skirt that perfectly showcased her figure. Bare-faced, she looked much the same as usual, but with a fresh, natural beauty — truly a born beauty.

Lu Ming glanced at her twice and grinned. "Stunning lady, after last night’s chaos, it’s past ten and we haven’t had breakfast. Shouldn’t we get something to eat?"

Huo Yutong blushed and laughed, scolding, "Who was up all night with you, shameless!"

Lu Ming shook his head. "Women, always women."

As they were bantering, someone peeked in at the door. Seeing Lu Ming inside, he entered with a smile.

Lu Ming stood up and kicked him without hesitation.

When Huo Yutong saw who it was, her heart jumped — it was Yun Ketian, the son of the Yun family. Lu Ming dared to hit him? That took guts.

Lu Ming’s kick sent Yun Ketian rolling across the floor. Lu Ming glared and cursed, "You dare show up here? Your family’s caused me plenty of trouble. Are you looking to die?"

"Brother Lu, please, hear me out!"

Yun Ketian scrambled up, not even bothering to dust himself off, and hurried over.

"Brother Lu, I came to apologize. My parents have prepared a lunch banquet today. They want to thank you personally for saving my life."

Lu Ming’s expression softened a bit.

But Huo Yutong was stunned. Yun Shengguo and Mu Weizhen wanted to apologize to Lu Ming in person? What had happened? What could make Yun Shengguo and his wife both appear together to apologize? Huo Yutong couldn’t fathom it.

Lu Ming replied, "I have plans at noon. I’m busy."

Huo Yutong almost bit her tongue in shock. These two wanted to apologize and he was too busy? Incredible, truly incredible.

Yun Ketian pleaded, "Brother Lu, please give me some face. Otherwise, I’ll end up grounded again."

Seeing the pitiful Yun Ketian, Lu Ming shook his head. "I’ve got a date with a fool at Emperor Hall, Kunmao Hotel, third floor. I really don’t have time."

Yun Ketian brightened. "Then how about we all meet at Kunmao Hotel? We’re all friends, after all."

Lu Ming’s expression turned odd, but he laughed. "Fine, suit yourself. Come if you want."

"Alright, I’ll head back. See you at noon." After bidding Lu Ming farewell, Yun Ketian dashed off.

After he left, Huo Yutong stared at Lu Ming for a long time.

Lu Ming touched his face. "What’s wrong? Do I have something on my face?"

Huo Yutong shook her head. "No. How did you end up at odds with them? Why do they want to apologize?"

She couldn’t figure it out. In the Northwest, those two would never need to apologize to anyone — even if Lu Ming had some influence, could he really surpass Yun Shengguo and his wife?

"Oh, it’s a long story. Let’s eat breakfast first — I’m starving," Lu Ming said, clutching his stomach.

Huo Yutong nodded, seeing he didn’t want to talk. She obediently didn’t push further, and they headed to a breakfast shop in a nearby alley.

Then, Huo Yutong watched in disbelief as Lu Ming devoured five baskets of buns, seven sticks of fried dough, and three bowls of spicy soup, still looking only slightly satisfied.

"Do you always eat this much?" Huo Yutong asked, astonished. She couldn’t imagine where all the food went.

"More or less. Honestly, I’m holding back," Lu Ming said, burping.

Ever since he’d started practicing the Dragon Soaring Technique, his appetite had skyrocketed. This was just barely enough to fill him; if he really let loose, he felt he could eat a whole cow.

"Impressive, truly impressive," Huo Yutong said, giving him a thumbs up.

After breakfast, they returned to the sundry shop. Lu Ming made a phone call, then they chatted idly.

Half an hour later, Ye Qi Meiyu arrived.

"My lord."

Upon seeing Lu Ming, Ye Qi Meiyu was about to bow.

Lu Ming said, "Enough, don’t do that anymore. I don’t like it."

"Yes, my lord."

Ye Qi Meiyu didn’t insist and quietly stood behind him like a maid.

It was the second time Huo Yutong had seen Ye Qi Meiyu. The first time she hadn’t felt much, but now, for reasons unknown, she felt a little pang of jealousy.

Soon it was past eleven. Lu Ming said, "Let’s go. Don’t keep them waiting."

The three left the sundry shop. Lu Ming drove his battered car, taking both a billionaire and a woman worth tens of billions straight to Kunmao Hotel.

They arrived and went up to the third floor. It was empty except for a few wandering staff. Led by a server, the trio entered the Emperor Hall.

As soon as they entered, they saw Ren Zhiyuan sitting at the central round table.

"Well, well, I thought you might not show up. You’ve got guts, kid."

Let’s set a small goal first, like remembering the Book Guest mobile site in one second.
