Lin Luyao arrived at the company and hurriedly shoveled two bites of food into her mouth at the cafeteria downstairs, which counted as breakfast. When she got into the elevator, she noticed a girl inside who looked up and gave her a sweet smile.

Who is she greeting? Me?

At this hour, Lin Luyao was the only one entering the elevator, but she really couldn't recall who this person was, so she could only return the smile politely.

When the elevator reached the seventh floor, she and the girl walked out one after the other. Only then did Lin Luyao realize—oh, wasn't that Yang Tianqi? Just yesterday, they'd had lunch together at the same table! But this young lady looked like a completely different person without makeup compared to when she wore it.

Back in the meeting room where their team was temporarily working, Lin Luyao discovered that someone had arrived even earlier than she had.

No wonder all the veteran employees had mentioned yesterday that their team was "fierce." So this was the reason!

“Good morning, Sister Danling!”

“Oh? You’re here so early? Have you had breakfast? If not, there’s plenty downstairs.”

“I’ve already eaten! I just came up from there,” Lin Luyao replied as she set down her bag. Then she tentatively brought up her request to take leave the next day.

As soon as Lin Luyao finished speaking, Chen Danling’s expression grew noticeably more serious. “Luyao, I know you’re still a senior in college and have things to take care of at school. But we’re in a bit of a crunch right now. If you take leave at this moment…”

She didn’t finish her sentence, but her meaning was clear enough: they needed everyone on deck right now. The product label reconstruction project had to be completed before the big sale, then handed over to the data and algorithm teams for fitting and training. Time was already tight, and everyone’s tasks had been calculated precisely. If someone suddenly asked for leave, who would take on their workload? Everyone already had their hands full.

Lin Luyao understood the gravity of the situation. Gritting her teeth, she steeled herself and said, “It’s fine. Since it’s my work, there’s no reason for anyone else to take it on. One of the reasons I came in early today was to get ahead and finish tomorrow’s tasks as well…”

“All right, Luyao, you’ll have to work a bit harder today then,” Chen Danling relented, since the matter had been discussed so thoroughly. “I looked over your work yesterday—the accuracy was quite high. Including tomorrow’s content… let’s set your target at sixteen thousand today. A few new hires will be joining the department in the next couple of days. Once they start, things should be easier for everyone.”

Lin Luyao agreed and quickly returned to her seat, racing against time. As she waited for her computer to start up, she couldn’t help but grumble inwardly about Jiang Xiaohan’s uncanny predictions.

Why is it that everything that comes out of her mouth comes true? Good things never work, but the bad ones hit the mark every time! Why doesn’t she wish something nice for me for once?

Next time, I must make sure to stop her before she can say anything!

By noon, Lin Luyao, pressed for time, couldn’t be bothered to queue for food downstairs. She happened to spot Cheng Li sitting nearby, just about to get up, so she took off her work badge and called out to her.

“Cheng Li! Could you help me bring back some lunch? I really can’t leave my desk… I’m not picky, I’ll eat anything!”

Cheng Li glanced at the badge Lin Luyao handed her, looking a bit awkward. “I’ve already made plans to eat with some friends, and we might take a while…”
