Chapter 52: Eligible to Attend
“You make it sound far too simple. If there were any new logic we could use, Sister Xujia and the others would have adopted it long ago!” Cheng Li remarked sarcastically from the side. She thought to herself, we’re all newcomers here, only been here a few days—if you want to stand out, at least come up with a decent reason!
“Exactly. If it were that easy… we would have changed it already.” After spending most of the day together, Tan Fang had already come to see Cheng Li as one of his own. Seeing her speak up, he couldn’t help but support her.
But before he could finish his sentence, Yang Tianqi kicked his chair, and he promptly shut his mouth.
“Don’t listen to his nonsense, Yoyo. Just say what you’re thinking.” Yang Tianqi’s slightly threatening look made Tan Fang change his tune.
“Yes, yes, you’re new here. Unlike us, sometimes stuck in old habits. Maybe you can see things from a fresh perspective.” He finished, glancing ingratiatingly at Yang Tianqi, his expression so eager it seemed he was seeking approval.
Lin Luyou hesitated for two seconds before voicing her thoughts: Since focusing on repeat purchases and positive reviews isn’t very helpful for brands with a broad audience, why not look at how many people, upon seeing the product, actually click to view it? Then see how many of those who clicked went on to make a purchase.
If we could track the time from browsing to placing an order… we’d be able to tell whether customers are making targeted purchases or just buying randomly.
Moreover, we could examine the ratio of returning customers to new ones. A brand relying solely on repeat customers isn’t enough to sustain growth. Only if they can attract new potential buyers does it prove the brand is dynamic and the products are not outdated.
As Lin Luyou spoke, her confidence grew, her thoughts clear and organized, as if she were back in her student days, giving a speech at the podium. When she finished, she noticed everyone around her was quietly watching, saying nothing. Her newly kindled confidence began to falter.
“Um, did I say something wrong?”
“No, not at all. That was excellent!” Chen Xujia replied, “Zhenxin, book a meeting room. We’ll have a proper discussion later about what Yoyo just suggested. Yoyo, please organize your points and present them again during the meeting.”
Seeing everyone acknowledge her ideas, Lin Luyou flashed a hidden peace sign under the table. She hadn’t expected her random inspiration to actually hit the mark.
Thinking this, she opened a Word document and eagerly recorded her thoughts. As she wrote, new ideas continued to spark.
While Lin Luyou was feeling pleased, Cheng Li’s mood was anything but.
“It’s okay, just keep learning and observing. Your professional skills are much stronger than hers,” Tan Fang messaged Cheng Li privately, encouraging her. Then, as he passed her desk to refill his tea, he tapped her chair in consolation.
Cheng Li immediately replied after reading the message:
“Fang, about the client needs we discussed this morning…”
“Tan Fang: Don’t worry about that.”
“Tan Fang: We already agreed it was yours this morning; nothing will change at the last minute.”
With Tan Fang’s assurance, Cheng Li finally relaxed. After all, what good is it to just voice opinions? The real key is being able to turn ideas into reality.
With this realization, Cheng Li refocused on her work. After such a long meeting in the morning, she, as the recorder, needed to organize the meeting minutes without delay.
