Chapter 053: Speaking at the Meeting
There happened to be a vacant meeting room, and Su Zhenxin quickly reserved it for the next two hours. Lin Luyou packed up her laptop, carrying a small notebook, and followed her teammates into the meeting room, trailing closely behind.
This meeting room was considerably larger than the one she had used a couple of days ago when helping out in the Operations Group One. With seven of them seated, it still felt a bit cramped.
Chen Xujia took the seat closest to the display screen and gestured for Lin Luyou to present her ideas once more.
Lin Luyou was prepared, but the company’s projection equipment was rather advanced, and she realized she didn’t know how to operate it. Yang Tianqi seemed to notice her hesitation and said, “Let me do it.” In a few swift movements, the projection was set up.
Earlier at her desk, as Lin Luyou organized her thoughts, she realized that simply explaining in words would be tedious and dull. So she transformed into a PowerPoint expert and, in just ten minutes, produced a presentation. It included textual explanations as well as screenshots from the app store. In three to five slides, her points became instantly clear.
After listening to Lin Luyou’s introduction, Su Zhenxin remarked from the side:
“The first part that Luyou just discussed can be summarized into two metrics: click-through rate and conversion rate. As for the second part about new and returning customers, that relates to acquisition rate and customer referral.”
“The second part is all well and good, but does their acquisition performance really matter much to us?” He Suzhen chimed in. She was leaning against the armrest of her chair, one arm draped over the back, the other hand rhythmically tapping a pen against her keyboard.
“Hm, I see it the same way. Regardless of their acquisition, as long as their product converts and generates revenue, it makes no difference to us whether it’s new or returning customers,” Chen Xujia summarized. Then she shifted her tone and added, “But we might need this idea later. After all, we’re building an integrated supply and sales platform, aiming for an ecosystem of mutual benefit. This dimension could help us assess a supplier’s audience reach and service quality. Let’s keep this point in reserve for now.”
With the team leader setting the direction on the importance of the new versus returning customer conversion rate, the members stopped dwelling on it and turned their attention to discussing the feasibility of the first metric.
“I think it’s doable!” Tang Xiao voiced her opinion. “But besides those two metrics, we should set some boundaries. We can’t exactly compare La Mer with Meijiajing or Dabao, can we?”
Everyone agreed that made sense.
“So does that mean we’ll have to ask Operations Group One to assign another label?” Cheng Li couldn’t help but frown. The endless days of tagging and categorizing from earlier had left her weary, and she had no desire to be drafted for labeling again.
“Hmm… Alright, Tianqi, can you check with Group One to see who’s free? Bring over a colleague who handles labeling so we can have a quick discussion.”
Receiving Chen Xujia’s instruction, Yang Tianqi, who was seated near the door, immediately set aside her work and went to find someone from Group One.
Before long, she returned with another person whom both Lin Luyou and Cheng Li knew well—it was Chen Danling, who had previously supervised the two of them.
“Well, Xujia, you’re letting the newbies join meetings so soon!” Chen Danling exclaimed as she entered, spotting the two new faces in the meeting room.
“They picked things up much faster than I expected,” Chen Xujia replied.
“That’s good. The newcomers in our group still need more practice. Alright then, what do you need me for?”
