Chapter 061: The Debate
The next day, Lin Luyou was up at the crack of dawn once more.
It was Friday. That meant, once she got through today, she would finally welcome her very first weekend after starting work!
Brimming with fresh enthusiasm and energy, Lin Luyou was a stark contrast to Jiang Xiaohan, who sat up with a yawn and expressionlessly watched her. After nearly three months of being “tormented” and “exploited” in the workplace, Jiang Xiaohan no longer felt that rush of excitement.
It was just a Friday, and tomorrow was the weekend—what was there to get worked up about?
She had forgotten, though, that she herself had once been just as exuberant—more so, even. On Fridays and Saturdays, she used to wake up humming songs. Her whole demeanor seemed to announce to the world:
“It’s Friday! As soon as I finish today, I get a two-day mini-vacation!”
“Tomorrow I don’t have to get up early!”
But reality had slapped her hard in the face later on:
Who said weekends are for you to rest? Get up and keep working!
After that, she realized—there’s no real difference between workdays and rest days. If your boss wants, every day is a workday.
The only difference is whether you get paid single or triple wages.

When Lin Luyou arrived at the office, unsurprisingly, she was the first one there in her team.
She plugged in her earphones and, listening to music, opened up the intranet. Yesterday’s problem was still unresolved, so she planned to look for more effective solutions. Using music to ease her frustration was something Qin Shishen had taught her the night before. She had brought her earphones along this morning just to test if this method really worked.
“You’re in early!” The second to arrive was Chen Xujia, still dressed in her cycling outfit. As she changed into her work clothes, she asked,
“So, how are you settling in? Any trouble adjusting?”
“No, everything’s going great.” Lin Luyou took off her earphones and replied with a smile.
“Do you think our pace is fast?”
“It is pretty fast…” Lin Luyou admitted in a quiet voice, “But I can keep up!”
Chen Xujia gave a soft laugh, straightened her clothes, and said, “It’s only really busy during the big sales—feels like we’re going to war. You two happened to join right at our busiest time.”
Then she echoed what Liao Yingying had said before: “Once we get through these two months of the big sales, everything will get better.”
At that, Lin Luyou found herself at a loss for words, so she simply nodded in agreement.
The rest of the team arrived one after another, greeting each other with “good morning” and chatting in small groups. This was probably the most relaxed and leisurely part of the workday.
At 9:30 sharp, everyone gathered their things, clutching laptops and mice, and hurried to stake out a meeting room.
Chen Xujia hooked her computer up to the projector, and the data sheet that Cheng Yu had helped prepare the day before appeared on the screen.
“Everyone received the data yesterday. Looking at it now, what are your thoughts?”
“I’ll go first.” He Suzhen adjusted her glasses, connected her computer to the projector, and said, “I created a pivot table, pulling out the top twenty products in each category by sales.”
“But that still doesn’t solve the problem we discussed yesterday,” Su Zhenxin countered, twirling a pen in her hand. “If you divide by sales, how do you know that those with lower sales won’t see a boost once we add them to the pool? And for high-sales items with poor click-through and conversion rates… No matter the conversion, they’re still making money, and quite a bit at that! You can’t just kick out the profitable products because their conversions and clicks aren’t as high as the others, can you?”
