The one speaking with Chen Xujia was none other than their elusive manager from the Product Operations Department, Wang Shi.

“Yes, right now. Yuan called for it,” Wang Shi said, grabbing two sheets of paper from some team member’s desk to wipe his sweat as he hurried them along. “It’s probably about the big promotion. Not just us, colleagues from Content, Channels, and Traffic are all there too.”

Hearing this, Chen Xujia had no time to complain. She swiftly unpinned her badge and stuffed it into Yang Tianqi’s arms, who was closest to her, grabbed her laptop, and hurried after Wang Shi.

A meeting in the middle of lunch? That was unexpected.

Lin Luyou was taken aback.

“Don’t worry, meetings like this are always for the leadership. Has nothing to do with us who are doing the actual work down here,” Yang Tianqi said, half gloating, half joking, as she took Chen Xujia’s badge and looped her arm through Lin Luyou’s, leading her downstairs.

Once they had clear directions, Lin Luyou finally witnessed what true Max speed looked like.

By the time the afternoon shift began, the lunch that had been packed for Chen Xujia was still sitting on her desk. She hadn’t returned yet.

Still, even without their backbone present, the team continued their work methodically.

“Tang Fang, run upstairs again and discuss the proposal Xujia mentioned this morning with Cheng Yu. Get the data as soon as possible—we can put out a preliminary product pool today.”

“On it!” Tang Fang flashed an OK sign to Yang Tianqi, then called Cheng Li to head to the Data Analysis Department with her.

This time, communication with Cheng Yu was quick. In just a few minutes, the pair returned.

Tang Fang tossed her notebook onto her seat. “Just talked to Cheng Yu. He’s helping with the data now. He’ll send it to our inbox shortly.”

Yang Tianqi nodded and turned to the two newcomers, raising her brow slightly as she spoke, “Youyou and Lili, you’re both new to this. If you don’t understand something, just ask. Youyou, you’re sitting near Xiaoxiao—if you have questions, ask her right away…”

Before she could finish, Tang Xiao winked at Yang Tianqi and put an arm around Lin Luyou’s shoulders. “Don’t worry, leave Youyou to me.”

“And if you have any questions, come to me,” Yang Tianqi said to Cheng Li.

“As for the rest, we’ll continue working as before, pairing up, and checking each other’s work once done.”

The moment she finished speaking, everyone set about dividing up the tasks. Each person took responsibility for one or two categories.

To ease the newcomers in, Lin Luyou was assigned Nutritional Health, while Cheng Li got Bags & Luggage. Neither category had too many brands or products, making them relatively easy to manage.

“You can watch how I do it first. It’s not hard—if you know your way around Excel, you’ll be fine,” Tang Xiao told Lin Luyou. As she spoke, each of their computers chimed with the arrival of a new email.

Opening it, they saw it was the data request they’d just discussed with the Data Analysis Department.

Following instructions, Lin Luyou didn’t start right away. Instead, she scooted her chair over to Tang Xiao’s side to watch her work.

Tang Xiao obligingly adjusted her screen so Lin Luyou could see, explaining each step as she worked, “See, in the first worksheet here are the specific instructions. Just follow these and you’ll be fine.”

With that, Lin Luyou watched as she clicked through another sheet, selected a range on the patch, and a string of product names was generated below.
