Chapter 084: The Request Has Been Accepted
In Cai Yuyao’s vivid description, it seemed as if Lin Luyao’s eyes reflected a grand battlefield, with thousands of soldiers in red and black plumed helmets locked in fierce combat. Though she wasn’t much of a programmer herself, that didn’t stop her heart from surging with excitement and admiration for the “warriors” upstairs maneuvering across the “data battlefield.”
After a lengthy digression, Tang Xiao glanced at the time and hurriedly steered the conversation back on track.
“Ahem, let’s talk business first. We can pick up our chat during lunch.”
At her cue, Cai Yuyao immediately opened her laptop, straightening up in her seat like an obedient child.
“Yuyao, you probably already know that the user operations team is spearheading a new platform targeted at seniors. Our product operations team needs to provide the basic product pool. For scoring these products, we may need some data from your side on various product dimensions.”
“Right, you mentioned it before. But for product analysis and scoring, didn’t you already ask for some data for the big promotion? Wasn’t Cheng Yu the contact for that?”
As she spoke, she opened the analytics group’s task board and pointed to the entry Cheng Yu had logged last week.
“Yes, the last time was for the big promotion’s product pool scoring. But this time, some of the metrics are different. Take a look.”
Tang Xiao shifted her laptop over so Cai Yuyao could see.
“Oh, so you’ve added target demographic, positive rating percentage, price index, and material quality…” Cai Yuyao tapped the screen in thought. “For fields like target demographic, our database doesn’t have that as a basic attribute. But your product operations group should have relevant tags, right? If you get me the tag codes, I can handle it.”
Lin Luyao listened quietly, jotting down the points she’d need to follow up on later.
Tang Xiao and Cai Yuyao discussed the metrics in further detail. From her data analyst’s perspective, Cai Yuyao offered several new solutions.
“So, these are the main metrics, right? If you’re good with this, I’ll upload and confirm the request.”
Seeing Tang Xiao nod, Cai Yuyao began filling out the request form, urging as she did:
“Alright, once you send me the tag codes, I’ll get started on it. If everything goes smoothly, you’ll have it by around 2:30 or 3:00 this afternoon.”
Tang Xiao seemed to weigh the feasibility of this timeline, paused a moment, then nodded.
“Alright, we’ll head down now to get the codes from the first group and message them to you shortly.”
“No problem. Oh, and besides the codes, don’t forget the file names! You always forget to send me the file names—don’t forget again this time!”
Tang Xiao stood, flashed an “OK” and a “mercy” gesture, then headed downstairs with Lin Luyao in tow.
Back on the seventh floor, Tang Xiao led the way straight to Group One’s office area, only to find it empty. After catching one of the remaining interns, they learned the team was in a meeting.
Discovering it was just an internal meeting, the duo dashed to the meeting room to “catch” them.
It took less than five minutes from “catching” the team to communicating their needs and successfully obtaining the file names and codes.
Tang Xiao sent all the required data to Cai Yuyao just as the lunch break began. With their work on hold, the two went downstairs together for lunch.
