Chapter Fifty-Six: The Four Noble Sons
Smack.
Peach delivered a resounding slap to Eun-hui’s face.
“You wretch, don’t get too full of yourself. From today on, I’m going to step on you, one foot at a time, until I reclaim the throne that’s rightfully mine.”
“I have thirty million followers. Crushing you is as easy as squashing an ant. How dare you even try?”
Furious, Eun-hui retaliated with a slap of her own.
“You actually want to hit someone?”
Ye Qiu raised his phone, shouting, “Everyone, come and see! The internet celebrity with thirty million followers is hitting people in public!”
Seeing Peach still dazed, Ye Qiu nudged her with his elbow.
Peach immediately understood, and in a blink, unleashed her former top influencer’s acting skills.
“You betrayed me, and I never blamed you. But you wouldn’t have thirty million followers and become a top influencer without the company’s support. It’s one thing to change jobs, but poaching company talent? That’s truly too much.”
“You wretch, what nonsense are you spouting, I—”
Eun-hui abruptly shut her mouth, realizing Ye Qiu was filming her. Having come this far, Eun-hui knew exactly what Ye Qiu was aiming for. Her expression changed dramatically as she lunged to snatch the phone.
“Oh dear, someone’s trying to grab my phone!”
The camera shook wildly, but no matter what Eun-hui did, she couldn’t lay her hands on the device.
“Give it to me now, or I’ll end you.”
The fiercer Eun-hui grew, the more delighted Ye Qiu became. The way she angled the camera transformed Eun-hui into a raging, foul-mouthed, violent internet celebrity for all to see.
Once she got the effect she wanted, Ye Qiu dropped her meek demeanor, pointed a finger at Eun-hui’s forehead, and no matter how much Eun-hui punched and kicked, she couldn’t touch Ye Qiu in the slightest.
“You’re too noisy. Get lost.”
With a slight push of her finger, Eun-hui felt an overwhelming force crash down on her.
Staggering back several steps, Eun-hui stared in disbelief, then suddenly shrieked like a madwoman, “You dare hit a woman? You animal! You actually hit a woman!”
Smack.
Peach slapped Eun-hui’s other cheek.
“You wretch, next time you throw a punch, watch where you are.”
“If you dare leave, just wait and see! Whoever walks out today is a coward!”
Eun-hui pulled out her phone, seething with rage.
Peach tugged at Ye Qiu, her expression anxious, clearly hinting that there was no need for bravado—sometimes a wise man knows when to retreat. It was better to steer clear of trouble.
Ye Qiu gently shook her head, signaling her not to worry.
Truthfully, Ye Qiu was also curious to see just who this Eun-hui of Peach’s really was.
Zhang Jun?
If he was coming, then so be it.
Just moments ago, Eun-hui was a fierce demon. But as soon as her call connected, she instantly turned into a delicate, weepy girl, whining and pouting.
After a short while, she hung up and put on a new face.
“You two think you’re so tough? My boyfriend’s already on his way. Let’s see how you beg for mercy then.”
At this moment, Eun-hui could already picture Ye Qiu kneeling and pleading, her head held high like a proud peacock.
“Manager Ye, there’s no need to stoop to her level. Let’s go,” Peach urged, trying to pull Ye Qiu away.
“Trying to leave?”
Eun-hui blocked their path, shouting and tugging, “Aren’t you two supposed to be so great? Why are you backing down now? If you’ve got guts, don’t go!”
“Move aside,” Peach demanded, pushing Eun-hui.
“Move your damn self! Neither of you is leaving today!”
Eun-hui gripped Peach tightly. As soon as her boyfriend arrived, unless these two knelt and begged, she wouldn’t let them off.
During the scuffle, the roar of engines echoed from outside.
A sports car screeched to a halt at the entrance, followed by several luxury sedans—all costing at least hundreds of thousands. It was clear these belonged to wealthy families.
A man in his twenties stepped out of the sports car, followed by a group of cocky young men from the other vehicles, their mouths spewing vulgarities as they headed inside with him.
Seeing him, Eun-hui’s arrogance returned in full force. She shot Ye Qiu and Peach a murderous glare, then immediately switched faces, flinging herself into the man’s arms, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Brother Dong, they hit me! You have to stand up for me!”
“Is it him?” Xiang Dong barely glanced, pointing casually. “You must have a death wish, to lay hands on my girlfriend. Break his legs for me—Wait, Mr. Ye?”
He hadn’t noticed at first, but now he did.
Wasn’t this Ye Qiu, the man who’d dared to beat Young Master Liu at the bar?
This man was no ordinary figure.
Not to mention, he’d bought shares in the Ye-Liu Group, made a fortune, and knew just how powerful the company had become.
Nowadays, the Ye-Liu Group was not someone of his status could afford to provoke.
“Mr. Ye, why are you here...?”
Xiang Dong glanced at Ye Qiu, then at Eun-hui, and instantly understood.
Ye Qiu raised an eyebrow. “We’ve met?”
“We had the honor of meeting you once in a private room at the bar,” Xiang Dong hurried to extricate himself from Eun-hui’s embrace.
“Oh, I remember—you were sitting right next to Liu Qing.”
Cold sweat broke out on Xiang Dong’s forehead. “It was a misunderstanding. I was only there to discuss investments; I have nothing to do with Liu Qing. Honestly, I’m very optimistic about Ye-Liu Group’s stock. I didn’t sell a single share during the price swings because I believe in you and President Liu.”
As he spoke, he quietly distanced himself from Eun-hui.
She was just a streamer. He might have spent millions to win her over, but there’d always be another. Besides, he’d made plenty of money lately.
Eun-hui noticed Xiang Dong acting like a lackey before Ye Qiu and couldn’t comprehend it. Unwilling to give up, she said, “Brother Dong, why are you so afraid of him? He’s just some pretty boy hanging around Liu Yiran.”
“You know nothing,” Xiang Dong snapped, grabbing Eun-hui by the neck and forcing her into a deep bow. “Apologize to Mr. Ye. If he’s not satisfied, you’ll be finished.”
“But Brother Dong…” Eun-hui struggled, tears streaming down her face.
She couldn’t believe that Xiang Dong, so renowned in Linhai, would turn into a docile dog before Ye Qiu.
What happened to the Four Young Lords of Linhai?
“Enough nonsense.” Xiang Dong pressed her head down even harder. Eun-hui cried out in pain, thrashing desperately.
“Manager Ye, I’m sorry. I was wrong. Please forgive me.”
“Apologize to her as well,” Ye Qiu said, pulling Peach forward.
“Sister Peach, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me.”
Peach stared at Eun-hui, now pinned by Xiang Dong. Where was her former arrogance now?
So what if she had thirty million followers?
In front of Xiang Dong, she was nothing but a tool.
And yet, even Xiang Dong was more obedient than a dog before Ye Qiu.
