Chapter 100: Are You Willing to Cultivate with Me Together?

Turned away at the door, Li Yunji returned to the Wang Residence with a sullen expression.
Shiyi immediately noticed the battle marks on Li Yunji’s clothes.
“How dare they lay a hand on the young master?” Shiyi frowned.
“They’re nothing but mad dogs!” Li Yunji spat angrily. “There’s no reasoning with them!”
Shiyi pursed his lips. “But I remember Captain Zhou isn’t someone who acts recklessly.”
“It wasn’t him,” Li Yunji sighed deeply, his tone grave. “It was the eldest of the Zhou family, Zhou Cheng.”
“He drew his blade the moment he saw me, shouting that he was avenging Zhou Jingzhi.”
“Him?” Shiyi’s brow furrowed even tighter. “Hasn’t he always had a bad relationship with the second son of the Zhou family?”
Li Yunji was silent for a moment, then sighed. “Blood ties run deep, after all.”
Shiyi didn’t quite agree. He muttered under his breath, “I think he’s just looking for an excuse to pick a fight with the young master.”
Before the words had fully left his mouth, a sharp arrow shot swiftly from outside, embedding itself firmly at Li Yunji’s feet.
Looking up, they saw Zhou Cheng standing at the doorway, slowly lowering his longbow, his gaze fixed on Li Yunji.
With a cold snort, he mounted his warhorse and rode off.
“Young master, there’s a letter.” Shiyi picked up the arrow and removed the sealed message tied to its tip.
Li Yunji took the letter, unfolded it carefully, his brow slightly knitting.
“What does it say?” Shiyi asked curiously.
“It’s a challenge for a duel,” Li Yunji tossed the letter aside casually. “He’s asking me to fight at the barracks five days from now.”
With that, he strode toward the interior.
“What’s he trying to pull this time?” Shiyi followed behind, puzzled.
“People of Beiling value their martial prowess. He wants to humiliate me publicly, so that I won’t be able to hold my head high in the Beiling army.”
Shiyi suddenly understood and nodded with a long ‘oh.’
“Don’t be afraid of him, young master,” he said after a pause, grinning. “Remember how Chen Jingshan looked down on you before? And yet you wiped the floor with him using that electrolysis technique.”
“This time it’s no good,” Li Yunji’s expression darkened. “I’ve used up my Thunder Rune.”
Shiyi’s heart sank instantly. “Then what will you do?”
Li Yunji stepped into the study, sighing softly. “What else can I do?”
His gaze sharpened. “Face him head-on.”
...
Star Plucking Pavilion.
The news of Zhou Cheng’s challenge to Li Yunji had spread like wildfire.
Voices rose and fell in the main hall.
“Commander Yang was just soundly beaten by the young lord, and yet the Zhou family still dares to ask for trouble?” A man in white on the upper floor leaned on the railing.
A waiter hustled about while shouting, “This time it’s different! The Zhou family’s eldest son has officially issued a battle challenge to the young lord!”
“So that means they can openly teach him a lesson?” A scholarly-looking man downstairs showed a flicker of excitement.
“That’s not certain. Li Yunji’s skills are nothing to brag about; he might not even dare to accept!” A black-clad swordsman at a table near the window teased, holding a girl in his arms.
Laughter erupted throughout the hall.
“Who said that?!”
Suddenly, Chu Qi’s loud and proud voice echoed through the hall.
“The young lord has already accepted!”
Silence fell instantly as dozens of eyes turned toward Chu Qi.
“He is Li Yunji’s personal attendant; what he says should be true!”
The crowd erupted again, clapping and cheering.
“This is going to be a spectacle!”
“That cursed Li is always arrogant. It’s about time someone taught him a lesson!”
“Exactly! I hope Deputy General Zhou gives him a good kicking when the time comes!”
“…”
Chu Qi’s face darkened instantly. Expecting relief, he was instead met with a different kind of ridicule.
Without a word, he picked up his meal box and stormed out, muttering angrily, “Such narrow-mindedness!”
In a private room on the second floor, Wu Jin leaned against the window, watching Chu Qi’s retreating back. He snorted coldly. “Zhou Cheng issued a battle challenge to Li Yunji?”
“Interesting...”
Behind him, a woman in yellow approached gracefully, her voice seductive. “I wonder, Mr. Wu, what are your thoughts?”
A wicked smile curled at the corner of Wu Jin’s lips. “If that’s the case, why not go along with it?”
They exchanged a glance. The woman sneered. “You mean to use Zhou Cheng’s hand to get rid of Li Yunji?”
Wu Jin nodded, his eyes gleaming with a savage light, his smile growing wider.
...
Beiling Prince’s Residence, the serene pavilion in the backyard.
Li Yunji lounged casually in a grand armchair, legs crossed, humming a little tune, utterly relaxed.
Su Xiyan, wearing a lotus-shaped hat specially made by Li Yunji, hopped around the pond, catching loaches and crayfish.
Her lively and adorable demeanor was reminiscent of Li Yunji’s former self.
“Are you confident about the fight with Zhou Cheng?” Su Qingmeng sat on a stone bench in the pavilion, her voice tinged with doubt.
“No,” Li Yunji bit into a slice of watermelon, answering indifferently.
“Then why haven’t you trained more?” Su Qingmeng frowned.
“No training,” Li Yunji turned to the side. “It’s too late anyway.”
Su Qingmeng was momentarily speechless, glancing sideways at him with a scowl. “Then how do you plan to handle this?”
Li Yunji was silent for a moment before sighing. “I’ll just let him beat me up.”
“Maybe that’ll satisfy him.”
Su Qingmeng suddenly stood up sharply. “You say that so casually—if you lose, how will you face the people of Beiling afterward?”
“I never had a good reputation there to begin with. Losing is losing,” Li Yunji scoffed, turning half his face to smile. “You look even more worried than I do. Afraid of losing face for your Su family, huh?”

Su Qingmeng turned away without a word.
After a long pause, Li Yunji sat up leisurely. “Actually, it’s not like there’s no way out.”
Su Qingmeng’s eyes brightened instantly, curious. “What way?”
Li Yunji stared at her for a long while, starting to speak several times but hesitating repeatedly.
“Spit it out!” Su Qingmeng’s impatience got the better of her.
Clearing his throat to muster courage, Li Yunji declared solemnly, “Dual cultivation.”
“Slap!”
A crisp, pleasant sound.
Su Qingmeng flicked her hand and sneered coldly, “You lecher.”
Li Yunji sighed again and laid back.
“You want to break through your level within five days, and you think there’s any other way?”
Su Qingmeng was taken aback, about to argue, but the more she thought about it, the more sense Li Yunji’s words made.
“But...” Su Qingmeng suddenly sensed something suspicious. “Why did you suddenly bring up dual cultivation?!”
After Li Yunji’s overnight advancement by six levels, Su Qingmeng had harbored doubts.
Now that he mentioned dual cultivation, she felt a hidden catch.
Seeing the sparks flare in Su Qingmeng’s eyes, Li Yunji sensed trouble.
He shouted loudly toward the study, “It was Shiyi who told me!”
“Right, Shiyi!”
Feeling Li Yunji’s summons, Shiyi appeared instantly in the backyard. He met Li Yunji’s gaze and decisively said, “That’s right! I did it!”
“It has nothing to do with the young master. If there’s any problem, take it out on me!”
Seeing Shiyi’s nonsensical response, Li Yunji hurriedly clarified, “He means that the method of dual cultivation to raise one’s cultivation was personally told to me by him. If there’s anything wrong, you can correct him!”
Shiyi nodded vigorously, not caring about anything else.
In his mind, whatever the young master said was always right.
Su Qingmeng’s anger remained fierce. She threw a disdainful glance over her shoulder and stormed off in a huff.
“Young master, did she find out?” Shiyi muttered softly, watching Su Qingmeng’s retreating figure.
“Looks like she didn’t,” Li Yunji composed himself and breathed out deeply.
Turning, he saw Su Xiyan scrutinizing them with big, bright eyes.
Startled, Li Yunji stumbled back and fell onto the grand armchair.
Looking at her innocent and adorable face, he couldn’t help but pinch her cheek.
“Five roast chickens. Don’t tell your sister.”
The little girl nodded adorably.
